About the Venue

Château Martinay, built in 1763 by the Isnards family near Carpentras in Provence, was burned during the French Revolution and rebuilt in 1836 using stones from the city ramparts. Restored in 2018 by Pierre Deltin and his family, it preserves fireplaces, moldings, and woodwork while introducing contemporary design, making it a graceful wedding chateau near Avignon.

Set within 35 hectares, the château offers sweeping avenues, shaded pathways, and historic courtyards. Couples benefit from exclusive hire for three days and two nights, with the estate hosting no more than twelve weddings per year. Each celebration can unfold across multiple spaces: Cypress Avenue for ceremonies, the South Courtyard for cocktails, and the 900m² Cour d’Honneur for dinners. Indoor salons allow festivities to continue late into the night.

Its location places it close to Mont Ventoux, the Dentelles de Montmirail, and Avignon, offering couples both seclusion and access to Provence’s cultural landmarks.

Accommodation & Amenities

Accommodation:

Accommodation at Château Martinay is designed to offer comfort in harmony with the estate’s neoclassical origins. The main building contains seven spacious bedrooms and suites, each retaining original architectural details such as high ceilings, parquet floors, and antique fireplaces.

Three additional annexes increase flexibility. The Loft features open, light-filled interiors ideal for smaller groups. The Pavillon du Levant captures the first light of day, while the Pavillon du Couchant offers tranquil evening views across the park. Collectively, these spaces provide 24 beds on-site. For larger gatherings, couples may also reserve the Bastide du Château: a 500m² Provençal residence with five en-suite bedrooms, two luminous salons, a fully equipped kitchen, and panoramic terraces.

Amenities:

Château Martinay presents a series of event spaces that allow couples to design a wedding that unfolds across multiple atmospheres. The Cypress Avenue, lined with tall trees and bathed in Provençal sunlight, offers a striking natural setting for ceremonies. The Cour d’Honneur, with its fountain and 900m² surface, is perfect for dinners of 100–120 guests, creating a grand yet inviting dining experience. The South Courtyard, oriented toward the sunset, becomes a dramatic stage for cocktails, while the Orangerie gardens welcome brunches in a relaxed pastoral setting.

Inside, four historic salons extend in succession, ideal for seated dinners, receptions, and late-night dancing. Music may continue indoors until 4 a.m., while outdoor spaces transition into lounges lit with soft lighting. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool measuring 20 by 10 meters, a tennis court, pétanque grounds, and shaded pathways for walks or cycling.
