With a name inspired by the peacocks that once roamed its grounds, this two-acre château offers a tranquil and graceful setting for luxury destination weddings. Behind its wrought-iron gates, guests arrive via a tree-lined drive to find sunlit terraces, restored interiors, and views across surrounding farmland.
Built around the philosophy of Joie de Vivre, Château de Paon accommodates weddings of up to 100 guests, offering flexibility and freedom in how the space is used. Ceremonies can take place beneath the estate’s centuries-old elm tree or within the walled courtyard, with Grand Paon and Petit Paon providing indoor options. Located near the UNESCO-listed town of Arles, the château offers a rare balance of Provençal romance, comfort, and understated grandeur.

Château de Paon sleeps up to 24 guests across 13 individually styled rooms, including suites, luxury doubles, and classic doubles. Each room has been thoughtfully designed to reflect Provençal tones and textures while incorporating modern comforts such as air-conditioning and monsoon showers. During the restoration, historic character was preserved through curated antiques and original features, while updated comforts support multi-day celebrations. Soft linens, quiet lighting, and a calm palette contribute to a restful guest experience, reinforcing the château’s philosophy of celebrating life beautifully.

Outdoor areas include a private pool and pool house with shaded lounges and a bar, while the tree-lined orchard and ancient elm provide natural backdrops for ceremonies and photos. The walled courtyard is ideal for cocktail hours or dinners under the stars. Indoor reception options include the Grand Paon for up to 100 seated guests and the more intimate Petit Paon for up to 40. A Turret Bar and East Terrace offer added variety for entertaining.
From Paris, guests can reach Château de Paon by TGV train to Nîmes Pont du Gard or Nîmes Centre, both approximately 20 minutes by car from the estate. Alternatively, direct flights are available to Marseille Airport, a 45-minute drive from the venue.
From London, fly directly into Nîmes Garons Airport (20 minutes away) or Marseille Airport (45 minutes away). Eurostar passengers can connect via Avignon TGV station, which is 40 minutes from the château by car. Local taxi shuttles offer regular transfers into nearby Arles for additional guest accommodation.
Ideal for more than just weddings, Château de Paon offers exclusive hire for holiday stays, creative workshops, and wellness retreats. Its versatile spaces — from the Grand Paon to the poolside bar and orchard — can host a range of events, from celebratory dinners to small corporate gatherings. While the estate currently partners with local churches for blessings, a dedicated chapel in the centre of Arles is set to open in 2027, further expanding its ceremonial offerings. Whilst we have a little black book of our favourite suppliers to give you somewhere to start, we never impose a specific supplier on our couples. In fact, we prefer to give you total freedom to bring in your own caterers, florists, photographers, musicians etc. We also do not charge corkage, although we do offer a capsule collection of wine which is pay-only-what-you-drink basis.
We recommend local taxis who do a great shuttle service into town leaving every 20 mins.
Arles has many beautiful churches who are willing to perform a blessing, St Trophime in Place de la Republique is a firm favourite with couples. From 2027, Chateau de Paon will have it’s own chapel in the centre of Arles for ceremonies and celebrations.
We have assessed pretty much all of the pinch-points couples experience with venues and tried to eliminate them all. For instance, the chateau is a blank canvas for you to project your vision, we give you license to use the spaces as you would like, there are few time restrictions and we are open to any ideas you may have. On this, you can fill the fountain with champagne bottles and land a helicopter on site, should you wish.
