Location: Carpentras • Provence • South of France
Château de Martinay, an exclusive wedding hotel for weddings and private events became a working classroom for a wedding design workshop devoted to light, space, and flow. The private estate, located near Carpentras, features tree-lined drives, formal courtyards, and expansive lawns a setting that speaks naturally to outdoor weddings in the South of France. Participants studied how to shape a ceremony within a corridor of cypress, using the grove’s natural structure to guide both sound and sight. Shade patterns shifted across gravel paths as the group tested aisle width, chair angles, and timing of vows for the softest light. The luxury provencal countryside wedding estate’s quiet grounds, marked by birdsong and balance, offered an ideal environment for observing rhythm, direction, and the choreography of movement through space.

Courtyard Welcome, Lemon Accents, and Sea Blue Notes
The afternoon scene shifted to Château de Martinay’s main courtyard, where aged stone walls met a palette of summer color. Lemon motifs introduced energy, while sea blue glassware and napkins cooled the look. Linen softened the geometry of the courtyard, and the welcome table carried citrus scents beneath flickering candles. The space was designed to feel relaxed but precise — pathways kept clear for service, tables set to invite easy conversation, and every visual line tested for proportion and comfort. As light faded, reflections danced across glass and stone, transforming the setting from structured to softly ambient. Music drifted under the arches, ice stirred in glasses, and the courtyard settled into a rhythm both social and serene.
Direction, Image Craft, and Provençal Precision
Behind this polished flow stood Claire Yossman Weddings, one of Provence’s talented wedding planners, whose direction kept every scene practical and adaptable. She mapped transitions between grove and courtyard, ensuring that circulation and service remained uninterrupted lessons in how to protect both guest experience and team workflow. The day was documented by Mathieu Pasques, one of the best wedding photographers in Provence, whose imagery highlighted form, color, and contrast: tall cypress lines against pale sky, lemons glinting in late sun, and architecture reflected in curved glass. Together, planner and photographer demonstrated how to balance aesthetic detail with real-world logistics proof that in Provence, beauty and functionality can exist in perfect, light-filled harmony.
