A luxurious 19th-century chateau in Dordogne built in 1840 as the residence of the Duke of Isly, offering exclusive privatisation for weddings up to 150 guests with accommodation for up to 40 on-site.
The Venue History
19th century · 19th-century chateau
Built in 1840 as the residence of Thomas Robert Bugeaud, Marquis de la Piconnerie, Duke of Isly and Marshall of France. He was a military leader and statesman serving under Napoleon Bonaparte, King Louis Philippe and Napoleon III, rising from the lowest military rank to Marshall of France. He became a member of parliament and Governor General of Algeria. As a revered national hero, he is buried in the Dome des Invalides near Napoleon Bonaparte.
