Château de La Gruerie sits in the tranquil Burgundy countryside, 1.5 hours south of Paris in Charny Orée de Puisaye. This wedding venue in Burgundy was once a regional administrative center for forest management and natural resource distribution. Today it is a privately owned family estate focused on thoughtful hospitality and intimate celebrations.
Couples are drawn to its peaceful gardens, intimate scale, and architectural features that merge French, Tuscan, Provençal, and English inspirations into what the owners call the “La Gruerie Style.” The property’s mature parklands and century-old trees create a timeless, poetic setting for weddings.
A former hunting lodge, La Gruerie now welcomes guests for exceptional weekend celebrations, offering exclusive use of the grounds and a personalised approach from the resident family team. With its mix of historic significance and carefully cultivated elegance, the château delivers a meaningful and refined atmosphere for destination weddings.
Accommodation:
La Gruerie offers two beautifully converted guesthouses located within the château’s former outbuildings: the five-star Maison Cristal and the Garden House. Maison Cristal accommodates up to eight guests across four bedrooms and three bathrooms, with elegant interiors that combine antiques, contemporary art, and modern comforts.
Guests enjoy full kitchens, a grand dining room, and a piano-equipped living area. The Garden House adds two additional bedrooms for four guests. Christian Lacroix linens, eco-friendly products, and a curated library of books and board games enhance the guest experience. Together, both gîtes provide peaceful, design-led accommodation for up to 14 overnight guests.
