Château d’Arcelot sits just outside Dijon in the village of Arceau, a remarkable 18th-century private estate with nearly uninterrupted family ownership since its creation. Commissioned in 1720 by Philibert Verchère, this luxury wedding chateau in Burgundy is considered the region’s first neoclassical château, showcasing classical symmetry and architectural grace in northern France.
In the 19th century, its extensive park was transformed by pioneering landscape theorist Jean-Marie Morel into one of the region’s earliest and best-preserved landscaped parks a philosophy that celebrates natural beauty and subtle design over rigid formality.
The estate is ideal for weddings, offering ceremony sites in the park and on Sappho Island, as well as elegant reception rooms like the atmospheric 18th-century Caveau-Pressoir and the spacious, contemporary Trianon pavilion. Château d’Arcelot accommodates both intimate celebrations and grand gatherings, while providing access to beautifully preserved interiors for wedding photography, including its grand staircase, dining room, and neoclassical entrance.
