About the Venue

Located between Bergerac and Saint-Émilion in the Dordogne countryside, Château des Vigiers is a prestigious 16th-century estate renowned as “Little Versailles.” This storied château was built in 1597 by Jean Vigier, Royal Judge of Sainte-Foy-la-Grande. It offers a captivating backdrop for weddings with finely carved fireplaces, imposing staircases, and authentic period décor throughout. Wedding ceremonies may be hosted outdoors in the château's historic courthouse if weather permits.

The estate comprises 150 hectares and features two distinct 4-star hotels: the original château with 25 historic rooms, and the contemporary Relais des Vigiers, with 40 rooms styled like a traditional tobacco drying barn. The estate also houses a Michelin-starred restaurant, a brasserie, a luxury spa, and a 27-hole golf course. For weddings, the venue requires full privatization of the château's 25 rooms for a minimum of two nights, creating an exclusive and memorable celebration setting in one of the region’s most iconic properties.

The château offers 25 uniquely designed rooms, each featuring period furnishings, marble fireplaces, and exceptional views of the golf course, park, or private terraces. Accommodation categories include 7 Classic Rooms, 11 Deluxe Rooms, 6 Prestige Rooms, and a Prestige Suite ideal for bridal preparations, complete with a romantic four-poster bed and spacious bathroom.

Rooms range from 25 to 55 sqm. The château must be exclusively hired for a minimum of two nights as part of any wedding celebration, ensuring a private, uninterrupted atmosphere. For larger parties, 40 contemporary rooms are also available at the Relais, offering modern comfort amid nature.

Amenities

Guests enjoy a comprehensive range of amenities, including the Spa by Sothys featuring hydrotherapy and indoor pools, jacuzzi, sauna, hammam, and a tea room. Leisure facilities include a fitness room, billiards, ping pong, tennis courts, and heated outdoor pool.

The estate also offers EV charging stations, bike rentals, and three 9-hole golf courses: the Lake, Valley, and Vineyards. Getting there

From Paris: Château des Vigiers is accessible by a 1-hour 15-minute flight to Bergerac, followed by a 30-minute drive to the estate. Alternatively, the TGV to Libourne (3 hours) and a short drive offers a seamless journey into the heart of Dordogne.

From London: Direct flights from Stansted and Gatwick to Bergerac make travel straightforward. With just a 30-minute transfer upon landing, couples and guests can transition easily from city to countryside luxury. The estate can also assist with airport transfers on request.
