About This Venue
A listed 17th-century château on the River Avre, an hour by train from Paris
Château des Joncherets is a Monument Historique château in Saint-Lubin-des-Joncherets, built in the 17th century on the banks of the Avre. Nonancourt is 1 km away and Paris Montparnasse is an hour by train. Weddings are hosted on a full exclusivity basis,.
Receptions are held in the Orangerie, which seats 160 guests for dinner and holds 250 for a cocktail reception. It has heated floors, chandeliers, infinity mirrors and a 17th-century fireplace. Outside, the inner courtyard is reached along a tree-lined path through wrought-iron gates, and outdoor dinners can be larger than the room allows. In the château, the Grand Salon takes 120 standing guests, and the concert hall, which holds up to 42 guests seated or standing, is set up for performances and smaller gatherings.
Religious ceremonies can be held in the estate's church, which is joined to the château by a bridge and remains a place of worship. Couples can attend a Catholic service or work with the local priest on their own ceremony. Outdoor ceremonies take place in the park, at the forest pavilion beside its sycamore tree.
Château lodging comes in 2 tiers, for 13 to 16 guests or for 17 to 30, and can be extended to 34 guests on request. A partner château 20 minutes away takes up to 38 more. The 9-acre park has moats, canals and an orchard, and guests can fish, row, play pétanque or croquet, or walk to the village bakeries and restaurants. Catering is by external caterers, and the owners, who have more than 18 years of hospitality experience, can introduce vetted chefs and planners. The team speaks French, English and Spanish.
