Manoir de Chivré sits in Normandy’s green countryside, 40 minutes from Caen between historic Bayeux and Saint-Lô, and 15 km from the D-Day landing beaches. Fully renovated between 2009 and 2012 and reopened in 2013, this wedding chateau in Normandy features restored stonework, timber framing, and contemporary comforts in a serene rural setting.
Weddings unfold across a bright reception hall with five bay windows, a stream-side park, and covered Arches that remove the need for a wet-weather plan. The family-run team places service at the heart of the experience, with Laurence guiding couples from planning to the wedding day. Exclusive hire, on-site accommodation for 106 guests, and dedicated event spaces create an immersive celebration setting close to Normandy’s celebrated heritage towns and coastline.
Accommodation:
Within the estate, sleeping arrangements total 106 beds. Eight wooden chalets sleep 86 guests across bunks, doubles, and singles, each with bathroom and WC, forming a lit hamlet a short walk from the hall. The manor provides six rooms: three doubles, one double with a king-size bed, and two five-person suites.
All feature private bathrooms; one ground-floor double is suitable for reduced mobility. A romantic bridal house for two includes exposed stone, a four-poster bed, and a claw-foot bath. For full-weekend flow, pre-night options are offered: manor 1,000 euros, bridal house 120 euros, chalets 25 euros per person.
Amenities:
Event areas are extensive and thoughtfully equipped. The reception hall spans 200 m² with exposed stone, a timber frame, a 12-meter ceiling, oak dance floor, kitchen, changing rooms, and restrooms. Les Arches offers 100 m² with a soaring 17-meter height for cocktails, ceremonies, or dancing. A 35 m² small cocktail room with restrooms suits children or meetings.
The 60 m² cart shed adds covered cocktail space. Outside, two hectares of gardens and a stream frame ceremonies. Included furnishings cover wrought-iron chairs with cushions, round-oval-rectangular tables, teak lounges, bars, easels, a wrought-iron arch, string lights, and décor.
From Paris: Take the Paris Saint-Lazare to Lison line, then a 10-minute taxi to the manor. By car, the A13 then A84 offers the fastest route toward Caen and Saint-Lô, continuing to the estate.
From London: Fly to Caen Carpiquet Airport, then drive around 40 minutes to the manor. Alternatively, Eurostar to Paris Saint-Lazare, onward train to Lison, and a 10-minute taxi. Ferry to Caen-Ouistreham is another straightforward option.
Corporate gatherings are welcomed in a countryside setting designed for impact and ease. The estate hosts seminars, official presentations, gala evenings, training sessions, and team building, using the reception hall, Les Arches, breakout rooms, and outdoor lawns.
Accessibility is a strength: Lison station on the Paris–Cherbourg line is a 10-minute drive. On-site accommodation in manor rooms and chalets supports multi-day programs. Laurence provides guidance, from layouts to timings, and a curated list of trusted providers can be shared. The estate’s varied backdrops also suit photo and video shoots, while the gardens encourage relaxed networking between sessions.
