Chateau de Canisy is a 13th and 14th-century family chateau in Normandy, held by the same family for a thousand years and set within 300 hectares of parkland between the D-Day landing beaches and Mont Saint-Michel. The estate offers full exclusivity for weddings of up to 140 guests across eight named reception spaces including the Main Reception Room, English Bar, Nightclub and Music Room, with 18 historic suites among 70 rooms. An in-house chef handles catering and the venue welcomes pets, children and fireworks displays.
The Venue History
13th to 14th centuries · medieval with 18th-century elements
The Château has belonged to the same family for a thousand years. Built in the 13th and 14th centuries with medieval towers, dovecote, and two main wings. The château comprises 70 rooms including 18 suites, each uniquely decorated and refurbished, most in the elegant style of the 18th century with period beds and luxurious marble bathrooms. A monumental granite staircase was designed by architect François Gabriel, ancestor of Ange-Jacques Gabriel, one of the architects of the Château de Versailles and the Petit Trianon.
