Madison and Dominic met in college, connected during a scrimmage between the women's soccer team and the men's tennis and track teams, and started dating shortly afterwards. The groom is from the UK and the bride from the US, so a few years of long distance followed before he proposed on a hike in England. On a trip to France they fell in love with the country and decided to marry there.

They married in spring at Château du Puits es Pratx in Occitanie, with 55 guests. By the account of their photographer, Merle Blümer, the most important part of the day was the time they spent with their guests, and "the biggest party afterwards".

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the château's garden, and the balcony gave a clear view of it. In the wine garden, family portraits were taken and the cocktail hour was held.

The bride's vintage-inspired dress was by LebrideAtelier, and Peach & Blush kept her hair and makeup soft so that the dress would stand out. The groom wore Paul Smith Design and a vintage brooch, which, like two small swans, was among the vintage-inspired details the bride included in the day.

Dinner ran to several courses in the courtyard, served with wine, and the same courtyard was the setting for the cake cutting and the first dance.

In the photographer's words the day "almost felt summer", though the wind was strong and it rained during the bride's father's speech. Golden hour came after dinner.

The decoration was kept minimal and its colours soft, like the bridesmaids' dresses. The flowers came in spring colours and matched both those dresses and the bride's bouquet.

Château du Puits es Pratx is a 19th-century wine estate on the edge of Ginestas, in the Minervois wine region of the Aude, about 15 minutes by car from Narbonne. It was once the home of a large wine producer, and its old wine hall is now a reception room with a bar built inside the original wine press. On site, 21 bedrooms sleep 42 guests.
