A Surprise Cabaret Named Charlie at Château du Pujolet

Delainey and Peter searched across France and Europe for a venue before choosing Château du Pujolet, in the countryside our guides to wedding venues in Occitanie and wedding venues in Toulouse explore. They travelled from New York for three very hot days in full sun. The weekend opened with a welcome dinner and closed with a yellow and white striped pool party, held in honour of their late dog, Hank.
Each day had its own caterer. Peter placed particular importance on food, drinks and making their 100 guests feel at ease.
Getting Ready

Ceremony

On the château's front steps, framed by the entrance in its symmetrical brick facade, Delainey and Peter married. Large green pots overflowing with flowers, like fountains, were the main decoration. Both mothers gave speeches, weaving prayers into what they said.
Bridal Portraits

For the welcome dinner, Delainey wore a floral gown.
The next day her bridesmaids wore baby pink dresses, and she changed from her ceremony gown into a long fish-scale dress with a diamond headpiece. Her makeup, by Sarah Fekir, stayed soft and natural throughout.
Peter made a change of his own, from a black tuxedo jacket into a white jacket finished with custom embroidery.

Reception

An entire room was transformed with deep red velvet into a Parisian cabaret named Charlie, after their dog, for a surprise after party that evening. A live band played, and feathered dancers performed among the guests.
Design and Details

Beyond the overflowing pots on the steps, the flowers by Les Renouées were loose, garden-inspired compositions in pastel colours. For portraits, a backdrop of green velvet added contrast to the day's pastels.
Venue

Château du Pujolet is an 18th-century estate at Vallesvilles, in the Lauragais, about 30 minutes by car from Toulouse. The estate has twin dovecotes and a park of century-old trees.
