FWS Real bride planning her wedding in France Kim

Kim and Alex Bali

Good Morning FWS Readers, we love hearing from you real brides so what better way to start International Women’s Day, then hearing from a FWS real bride planning her wedding in France. We would like to give a huge welcome to Kim, our newest Belle Bride. Kim will be planning and sharing all the details of her wedding for May 2020 and we have her exciting first post below, so keep on reading…

Let’s welcome Kim “Alex and I met, in 2009, in Val D’Isere, while both of us were working a ski season.  I was a chalet host and he was working in a ski hire shop. Over the course of the season, it was clear that we were falling for each and the idea of parting ways at the end of the six-month season became unbearable. After the season we did parts ways, but within a month we missed each other too much and there started our relationship.  Fast forward to a trip to Paris in October 2017, where three days before my 30thbirthday, Alex proposed to me in our favourite spot in the city; in front of the Sacre Coeur overlooking the Eiffel Tower (bang on time for the hourly twinkly lights).  It was perfect and was followed by a weekend of celebrating in Epernay, where my family had rented a chateau to celebrate my birthday, which became joint engagement celebrations, with a lot of Champagne.

With France being such a prominent place for big milestones in both of our lives, it seemed obvious for us to get married in France. My mum found the perfect chateau for us (Chateau Las Faruges) in the Lot Garonne area and we have booked it over the bank holiday weekend in May 2020.   We are planning for a three-day celebration; Saturday 23rd a pre wedding dinner in Agen, followed by the wedding day on Sunday 24th May and then a pool party/bbq on Monday 25th May.”

Response to becoming a FWS Bride

Kim says “I am delighted to become a FWS bride.  From the moment we got engaged I have loved gathering ideas from real bride’s stories (my Pinterest boards are brimming!) and have appreciated reading honest accounts of the planning process.  I am excited to document the planning adventures in the lead up to our wedding as something to look back on as well as hopefully giving other brides some ideas too!”

We’d like to say a huge welcome to Kim and are very excited to hear all the details about her wedding planning journey. If you’d like to keep up-to-date with Kim’s journey then subscribe to our newsletter for all the latest FWS updates.
