C'est la Fête Tote Bags at Château de Sannes
Emily and Duncan's summer wedding weekend at Château de Sannes in Provence, with pink hydrangeas, green striped tote bags and an oversized raspberry tart.

Emily and Duncan chose the South of France to gather family and friends for a full wedding weekend, which began with a welcome party and closed with a farewell brunch. The New York couple did not want a wedding that took itself too seriously, according to their planner, Mademoiselle Events. In the planner's account, one motto summed it up: C'est la Fête, printed in raspberry pink on green striped tote bags.
They married in summer at Château de Sannes, a château wedding venue in the Luberon, with 90 guests.
Getting Ready

Ceremony

The ceremony took place in the château's gardens in soft late-afternoon sunshine. Instead of a monumental floral arch, Alkonost Fleurs set loose clusters of flowers along the aisle, "almost as though they had grown there overnight", in the planner's words. Its hydrangeas came in saturated pinks and soft greens, mixed with peach, coral, mauve and creamy summer flowers, some low to the ground and others rising freely. No dramatic structure stood at the end of the aisle, which left the garden's symmetrical hedges, fountain and cypress trees as the ceremony's setting.
Bridal Portraits

Emily wore a lace gown by Verona Gown, long and fitted, with a sweeping veil, her hair by Jessica Kaub and her makeup by Audrey Gil. Later she swapped the gown for a short white party dress.
Couple Portraits

Duncan chose an ivory dinner jacket, black trousers and a bow tie.
Bridal Party

More colour came from the bridesmaids, in mismatched dresses of pistachio, butter yellow, peach, coral, pink and fresh green.
Reception

Champagne coupes and bright orange cocktails followed the ceremony. As the light faded behind the château, dinner was served in the courtyard beneath its warm stone façade. Long tables were dressed in pale blue-grey linen and surrounded by natural wooden chairs, with tableware supplied by Joli Bazaar. Small colourful arrangements by Alkonost Fleurs echoed those along the aisle. Chef Roland Paix's dinner began with starters to share, followed by a warm main course of meat or fish.
Raspberry came back at dessert. Instead of a tiered cake, Emily and Duncan cut an oversized raspberry tart beside sparklers. The live band Hyperfunk and Mix and Light, on DJ and lighting, then took the party late into the night, which ended with sparklers and colour bombs.
Design and Details

The palette added bursts of fuchsia and bougainvillea pink, blush and apricot, with touches of lilac, apple green and lemon yellow, to the château's stone and greenery. Elodie l'Idolée designed and styled the event. The weekend also had a custom photobooth.
