Jasmin and David's Relaxed Château Wedding in the Tarn

Jasmin and David's mornings reflected their different personalities.

In the bridal suite, Jasmin's preparations were calm and unhurried as she dressed in her Jenny Yoo gown. David's morning had a completely different energy, filled with music, laughter and what the couple described as “tattoos, rings and a rock-and-roll attitude.”

There was no attempt to make the two sides of the morning feel the same. Instead, those differences became part of the story of the day: relaxed and romantic in some moments, louder and more playful in others.

Jasmin and David married outdoors in the château gardens, surrounded by the friends and family who had travelled from the UK to celebrate with them.

The ceremony styling was deliberately simple, allowing the garden and the people within it to remain the focus.

Château du Pont Bourguet already has a natural route for an outdoor ceremony. A gravel pathway runs between low hedges, passing the tiered fountain before reaching the château terrace. Rather than creating a separate aisle or elaborate ceremony structure, the couple made use of what was already there.

Under the summer sun, the ceremony felt relaxed and personal, setting the tone for an afternoon that continued with drinks, laughter and time together in the gardens.

Jasmin wore a Jenny Yoo gown with a simple, modern silhouette that suited the relaxed château setting.

Her bridal portraits were photographed around the estate, using the garden and château architecture as the backdrop rather than introducing additional styling.

Photographer Oriane Baldassarre approached the day in the documentary style Jasmin and David had requested, capturing the quieter moments alongside the more energetic parts of the celebration.

The couple kept their portraits relaxed, moving through the grounds of Château du Pont Bourguet while their guests continued enjoying the celebration.

The château's garden, stone façade and surrounding landscape provided plenty of variety without taking Jasmin and David away from their guests for long.

This natural approach was important to the couple and carried through Oriane Baldassarre's photography, which combined documentary images with the bold on-camera flash they particularly loved.

With friends having travelled from across the UK, the bridal party photographs became less about formal posing and more about capturing the group together.

The relaxed approach suited the atmosphere of the day, with the gardens giving everyone space to gather before returning to the celebrations.

Following the ceremony, guests remained outdoors for a long cocktail hour in the château gardens.

It was an important part of the day for Jasmin and David. Their wedding had been planned around having everyone together, and leaving plenty of time between the ceremony and dinner meant there was no need to rush guests from one part of the celebration to another.

The garden became the natural gathering place, with the château and surrounding Tarn countryside providing the backdrop.

Dinner was held in the château's barn, which opens to the outside and allowed the celebration to continue into the warm summer evening.

Wi's Traiteur created the wedding dinner. As one of Château du Pont Bourguet's recommended caterers, the team was already familiar with the property and its practical requirements. The wedding cake was created by Caty Sweets.

The couple chose a traditional French rhythm for the evening: a long cocktail hour followed by dinner and speeches before the celebrations continued late into the night.

The barn kept the reception connected to the rest of the estate while providing a dedicated space for dinner, making it possible for the entire celebration to take place within the château grounds.

The tiered fountain became the centrepiece of Jasmin and David's wedding design.

Rather than distributing their floral budget across numerous installations, the couple chose to create one statement arrangement around a feature that was already central to the garden.

Florist Dans le Jardin des Amoureuses covered the fountain with white hydrangeas and calla lilies. Flowers cascaded over the upper bowl towards the water, with additional blooms floating in the basin below.

It was a simple but effective approach: one generous floral installation created a strong focal point without competing with the château and its gardens.

Elsewhere, the styling remained understated. Single calla lilies were placed in glass vessels, candlelight ran along the tables and natural textures complemented the surrounding stone.

Keeping these details restrained allowed the fountain installation to have greater impact while giving the rest of the wedding a relaxed, cohesive feel.

For couples marrying at a château with strong existing features, it is a useful approach to consider. A floral budget does not necessarily need to be spread evenly throughout a venue. Choosing one area for a larger installation can create a memorable focal point while allowing the rest of the setting to speak for itself.

The details of the day reflected the same understated approach as the wider celebration.

Rather than creating heavily styled compositions, Oriane Baldassarre photographed the smaller elements of the wedding as part of the overall story, keeping the focus on the textures, accessories and personal details chosen by Jasmin and David.

Built in 1850, Château du Pont Bourguet is located in Larroque in the Tarn, with the Vère river running along the edge of its garden.

Above the château sits the medieval village of Puycelsi, recognised as one of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France. Toulouse is approximately 50 minutes away, making the property accessible for an international destination wedding while still feeling tucked away in the countryside.

The château is particularly suited to intimate celebrations. It accommodates weddings of up to 80 guests and has nine bedrooms sleeping 20 people on site. The entire property is privatised for one celebration at a time, with a three-night minimum stay and peak-season hire starting from €5,000.

For Jasmin and David, its smaller scale was part of the appeal. Their 80 guests could spend the weekend together, moving between the garden, fountain, château and barn without the celebration ever feeling spread out.

Their wedding shows that a destination celebration does not need to be filled with elaborate styling to feel considered. They chose a venue with character, invested in one memorable floral installation and left plenty of room for what mattered most to them: good food, a long evening and having everyone they loved together in France.
