Domaine Array Dou Sou sits in the Landes, 45 minutes from Biarritz and just over an hour from Bordeaux. The château and its 4.5-hectare grounds are hired exclusively for a wedding weekend. 14 en-suite rooms sleep 43 guests on site, and the Orangerie seats 300 for dinner or 550 for a cocktail reception. The courtyard beneath the château's towers holds up to 300 guests for an evening reception.
A heated saltwater pool, a private chapel, and 2 pétanque courts complete the grounds. Paris reaches Dax, 10 minutes from the château, in 3h20 by direct TGV, with 2,100 hotel rooms in the town for overflow accommodation. The estate runs on 100% renewable electricity, with a Clef Verte assessment underway.

Domaine Array Dou Sou is the Château des Évêques de Dax, former residence of the Bishops of Dax. The north wing was added in 1774. The château was fully restored and reopened for private hire in October 2025, with the private chapel reconsecrated and blessed by the local bishop. More than 150 members of the heritage association Vieilles Maisons Françaises attended a presentation of the restoration in August 2026. The works also returned the Orangerie and the Cour du Château, along with the Salle du Chapitre (chapter hall) and the Salle des Gardes (guard hall), the classified salons, the Logis and the Studiolo.

Chapel
Private consecrated château chapel, blessed by the local bishop, seats up to 20. Outdoor ceremonies can also be held in the Cour du Château (courtyard beneath the towers) or in the park and gardens.
Wet-weather backup
Ceremony relocates indoors to the air-conditioned Orangerie or the Salle du Chapitre — a genuine indoor room, not a marquee. For a rainy-day cocktail reception, the three classified salons (140m² total) hold up to 200 guests, and opening them through to the adjoining Salle du Chapitre raises indoor cocktail backup capacity to more than 320 guests.

The grounds include a heated 14x4m saltwater pool, open May to mid-October, on a private terrace. A forest area within the park hosts a beehive biodiversity programme, and 2 pétanque courts sit among the lawns. A fountain completes the gardens.
