About the Venue

Located in the heart of the Minervois wine region in southern France, Château du Terral is a late 19th-century château built between 1889 and 1909 by vineyard owner André d’Andoque. Designed for receptions and celebrations, the château was constructed on the remains of an 18th-century farmhouse as a gift to his wife, Germaine. This wedding châteaux in Occitanie is distinguished by its neo-Renaissance and classical features, including iron mesh facades, stone balconies, and richly decorated salons. Château du Terral is now recognised as a French Historic Monument and offers an exceptional setting for weddings, combining architectural grandeur with the Mediterranean landscape of olive groves and vineyards. The estate includes a private chapel for intimate ceremonies, extensive grounds for outdoor celebrations, and panoramic views of the countryside. The château is located in Ouveillan, close to the Canal du Midi and several picturesque Languedoc villages known for their Romanesque heritage and winemaking traditions.

Accommodation

The estate offers accommodation for up to 25 guests. Inside the château, four spacious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms include a dedicated bridal suite. Adjacent to the main building, the guest house—converted from the original stables—can host up to 15 guests. Two additional properties within 500 metres of the château can sleep 14 more guests, and the village of Ouveillan offers further local lodging options for wedding attendees. A two-night minimum stay is required as part of the wedding hire.

Amenities

Château du Terral provides multiple outdoor spaces ideal for ceremonies and receptions, including terraces and landscaped lawns. A marquee is installed for receptions, as there is no formal indoor reception hall; however, château salons are accessible for residents and wedding photography. The estate also features a swimming pool and a tennis court, both accessible to château and cottage residents. Onsite parking accommodates up to 200 vehicles. Tables—both round and rectangular—are included in the hire.

Getting there

From Paris, the fastest route is by TGV train to Béziers station, located just 30 minutes from the château. Alternatively, couples may fly into Montpellier airport, which is approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car.

Travellers from London can fly directly to Béziers airport, located 40 minutes from Château du Terral, or to Montpellier airport with a drive time of 1 hour and 15 minutes.

While weddings remain the venue’s primary focus, the owners are planning to expand services to include corporate retreats and other private gatherings in the coming years.
