About This Venue
A historic wine estate above Nice, at the summit of its own appellation
Château de Bellet is a historic wine estate on the hills above Nice, at the highest point of the Bellet appellation the estate gave its name to. The Barons de Bellet, a family originally from Savoy, founded the property in the 18th century; in 1873 they built a chapel in homage to Agnès Roissard de Bellet, which has since been desacralized and now houses a tasting room and boutique. The estate's wines have a documented history at the highest levels, served at the Summit of Versailles in 1777 and at the European Summit held in Nice in 2000.
At 300 metres altitude, the grounds look out over the Mediterranean and the Var valley to the final foothills of the Alps. Weddings are held on full exclusivity across the chapel, gardens, and terrace, with a semi-underground winemaking facility completed in 2011 forming part of the working estate.
