This vibrant Domaine du Chesney styled shoot has us so excited for summers in Normandy. The bold colors were such a great contrast to this soft bridal look and this venue was really incredible – it was built to replicate George Washington’s house in Mount Vernon. Let’s see how this shoot got the presidential treatment with Pierre & Julia Photographes..
Stéphanie, the wedding planner at “Des Bulles et Des Etoiles”, wanted to create a spring-like styled shoot marked with vibrant pastel colors. This romantic proposition was inspired by the memories of a trip in the green meadows of England.
We were so lucky to discover Le Domaine du Chesney with its beautiful paths surrounded by hundred-year-old trees. It is a wonderful castle inspired by very sophisticated design with a touch of bright colors. It’s ballroom is completely open with views of the park through it’s glass walls. Situated in Normandy, about one hour from Paris, Le Domaine du Chesney was built in the 19th century on the heights overhanging the river Seine. Architecturally speaking, this castle was inspired by the Northern American constructions: it is indeed the replica of Georges Washington property in Mount Vernon. Le Domaine du Chesney is a true and calm jewel in leafy surroundings. Artworks can also be found everywhere in the park and it’s outbuildings. The choice of the venue was truly important and inspirational for the setup of this styled shoot. Another inescapable element was the mismatched crockery supplied by Vaisselle Vintage, so reminiscent of the table for teatime with the Mad Hatter. Obviously, with such a theme for this styled shoot, a few references to Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll were to be made. Every detail was chosen carefully for consistency and harmony all along with this styled shoot. The idea was to organize a refined but also minimalist wedding atmosphere and decoration. It is so important to be surrounded by friends and family on your wedding day. Victor, the groom, was supported by his groomsmen all dressed with matching suits with a little something “so British” in the design. Calligraphy was an important element in this shoot. It can be seen from the invitation set to the beautiful mirror set up on the table, these were all created by Letterblooms.
As far as the wedding ceremony is concerned, typical English features were introduced. For example, the exchange of vows between the bride and the groom was celebrated with a kind of tea ceremony, in reference to the English birth of the bride. A huge thank you to this international staff who put together an awesome bright shoot just in time for Summer!
