We are pleased to feature today this pretty, magical peacock palette wedding in Meuzac, France. Introduced to us by Pattie Fellowes, this wedding is every gypsy spirit’s dream and is made even more special by beautiful pregnant bride Marie and her colourful taste…
A romantic escape together has always been their big dream.
“After being together for many years, Marie and Guillaume decided to celebrate their love in a sentimental and memorable way. A romantic escape together has always been their big dream.
They were looking for a cosy, relaxed venue that would allow them make unique memories of their desired elopement. As travel, nature and animal lovers, they found Ruth’s farm to be their perfect place to celebrate their relationship.
Located in the picturesque village of Meuzac, Ruth’s farm offers holiday B&B in a cosy gîte, as well as horse hire for special occasions. Ruth and her welcoming family were delighted to host Marie and Guillaume for their intimate elopement.
Peacock proves that showing our true colours can be really beautiful.
Marie, who loves bohemian, colourful style, chose peacock colours as her theme. The perfect combination of iridescent blue and grey plumage, metallic green and bronze stands for harmony and integrity. Peacock proves that showing our true colours can be really beautiful.
The couple, in a non-traditional way, spent their wedding morning together. A talented local stylist, Laura Cawte, pampered the bride to the cheerful tunes of Guillaume’s guitar.
Marie layered it up with vibrant, floral scarves and faux fur vest.
Marie was wearing a stunning bohemian style dress with ruffled, lace sleeves and open back. Perfectly fitted to highlight her growing baby bump. As a lover of boho and gypsy fashion, Marie layered it up with vibrant, floral scarves and faux fur vest.
The bride looked stunning having her silver blonde hair braided and decorated with peacock feathers. Wearing golden sparkly eyeshadow and blackcurrant lipstick made her bright blue eyes pop even more.
The bridal look was completed with sentimental jewellery: a set of bracelets made on commission by Lila in the Sky. This Toulouse-based jewellery designer specialises in spiritual jewellery, using stones and crystals with healing and protective properties. The couple decided not to have any traditional wedding rings. However, choosing her bracelets Marie fell in love with a labradorite and moonstone ring, which Guillaume bought for her later as a nice wedding surprise.
On her wedding day Marie was wearing an Iris token from Distinctly Caitlin’s Design. Iris is a symbol of hope and wisdom – the attributes Marie wanted to surround her new baby with.
Before the ceremony, the couple asked to take a portrait photo for their elopement announcement. We prepared a bohemian style set up with two peacock chairs in the centre, decorated with floral arrangements and candles. The portraits, together with a custom printed elopement announcement, will be posted to the family and friends to share the joy of the wedding.
On the day we were surprised by heavy torrential rain. But the weather couldn’t stop the couple from celebrating their love.
The harmonious combination of purples, blues, greens and browns
Jenny from Fairy Fleur prepared stunning floral arrangements inspired by the desired peacock palette. The harmonious combination of purples, blues, greens and browns made an incredible background for their intimate vows exchange in the forest, and under a large umbrella.
After the ceremony the couple was nicely surprised by Tina, who stopped by at the farm with her vintage ice cream van and offered some traditional ice cream. Even the cold weather couldn’t stop Marie and Guillaume from having their favourite treat!
Encouraged them to snuggle up by the fire.
The couple spent a relaxing afternoon on the farm, walking around and patting the animals. But the cold weather quickly encouraged them to snuggle up by the fire.
For an even more romantic and warm atmosphere
Jenny and her team prepared a romantic picnic table in a sheltered wood storage. A low table was covered with natural blue linen table cloths, and decorated with pampas grass, peacock feathers and turquoise crockery. Colourful beanbags with sparkly sequins made the look very cheerful and welcoming. All accomplished with several candles for an even more romantic and warm atmosphere.
Decorated with hand made sugar embellishments with edible gold and flowers
After the dinner made of organic, locally sourced ingredients, the couple enjoyed their delicious wedding cake. Decorated with hand made sugar embellishments with edible gold and flowers on the top – it looked like a piece of art itself.
Marie and Guillaume’s elopement was a unique experience for the couple. The wildness of the farm, rain and intimate atmosphere made the speeches even more emotional, snuggle to be warmer, colours to be brighter and the whole wedding even more romantic. It was a memorable way to celebrate their love.”
