La Ville Rose Wedding Inspiration

bride looks into camera and groom touches his forehead to bride's faceToday we are taking you to a plush château near Toulouse – known to locals as “La Ville Rose” or The Pink City – in South West France for a romantic, timeless and elegant wedding inspiration shoot. The shoot was planned, designed and photographed by husband and wife team Clémentine & Mark Ward, long standing partners of French Wedding Style.

The Overall Styling

“Elegance never gets old. At Awardweddings, we just love under-stated and everlasting designs that you can look back on at any point. With lots of flowers you know that natural beauty won’t change. We chose fresh tones of white, cream, blush and touches of red and gold, reflected in the flowers, stationery and table wear, to match our setting and venue.” Says Clémentine.

The bride wears a light and graceful, with a flowing skirt that yet falls to form a subtle figure. Her top is perfect for summer but with a pattern for all seasons. The groom is accompanying her with a classic cut lounge suit in midnight blue. We love how their natural looks help them breeze through the day.

A Gorgeous Château

The shoot took place in a stunning château near Toulouse in South West France. You’re probably choosing the south of France to have an outdoor wedding and you will be spoilt for choice at this place.

The ceremony is in the lower meadow with a beautiful view of the château at the top of the hill. The ceremony is marked by this beautiful semi-circle floral arch. The aisle was also adorned with gorgeous lush floral arrangements tying-in with the arch.

The inside of the château is equally superb, and we used the grand entrance hall as a welcoming area. The impressive wooden staircase was decorated with flowers leading up to the dinner area.

The table plan is created above the fireplace. We love the elegant table cards placed with seal wax on the antique mirror. Flowers, the key element through the day, decorated an already magnificent hearth.

A sumptuous landing area, swimming in day light hosts the dinner table; decorated with a central arrangement of flowers and brass candlesticks with candles echoing the shades of our flowers. A fresh look with accents of quiet red and gold. The cutlery, vases and chairs continue this accent. Each side of the table is embellished with a beautiful flower arrangement.

The Details

The flowers and stationery carried us through the day. We created a bespoke stationery suite with fine-looking cards and materials to add to the freshness of the décor and accents of red.

The lavish flowers created for the day were nevertheless reserved in an elegant and fine art style.

“Today was a dream to shoot with everything knitting together beautifully; it’s such a pleasure to capture sublime images that came in through the lens whichever angle I chose. The bride was utterly divine and her groom certainly walked tall by her side. Take me back!” Says Mark.
