Destination Bordeaux Wedding

Today we go back to the southwest of France to one of the most famous wine regions for a destination wedding Bordeaux. Château de Garde is a gorgeous backdrop for the happiest day of their lives.

Ulrike Photography did a stunning job documenting this amazing day that was planned by Jenny Morel. And we’re going to let Jenny tell you about some of the splendid details of this amazing day.

Nicki and Richard are coming from New York. He is french and she is American. They both wanted to get married in France for good wine and good food. They started their research by looking for a wedding planner as they were abroad. They chose Weday’s and Jenny Morel Weddings as their planners for the whole year of planning as we directly had this good feeling together. They quickly chose the château de Garde as they had a crush on it when visiting it.

Château de Garde is a really pretty château that has been renovated with great taste, and when you rent it for a wedding it is all yours for the weekend. Nicki and Richard liked this idea of having their closest friends and family in the same venue for the whole weekend as they could accommodate almost 30 people. Nicki and Richard wanted to keep the charm of the history of this castle with lots of greenery and flowers and nice tableware. Nicki chose to get ready in one of the beauty salons of the château with her 6 bridesmaids and Richard kept the suite to get ready with his 6 groomsmen and champagne! The outdoor ceremony was so pretty facing the vineyards.

Then they chose to offer a really nice long cocktail time to their guests, with a live band playing music, 4 food stations, and champagne fountain to make it as french as possible! The dinner was in the reception room, with wooden beams and a fireplace. So we chose to keep it as natural with wooden tables and chairs. It has been a full dinner with 4 meals and lots of wine! Then the bride and groom chose to have a DJ for the dance party that ended in the morning. We loved so much planning this amazing wedding as this couple is so cute.
