A Burgundy Romance Styled Shoot at Château de Mirambeau
A burgundy-toned styled shoot at Château de Mirambeau, Nouvelle-Aquitaine: a steel-ring bouquet, lace by Made With Love and a stained-glass chapel scene.
A refined editorial interpretation of modern romance, built around one palette and one shape. That was the brief behind Burgundy Romance, a destination wedding styled shoot near Bordeaux, staged in the gardens of Château de Mirambeau in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Deep burgundy carried through every layer of the day. Models Harper and Liam were styled as a fashion-forward couple at the centre of an intimate destination elopement.
Photographer Marion Alexandra led the shoot. She worked alongside content creator Sarah of Sans Filtre and planner Lucie of Mc2 Mon Amour, who staged the day across the chateau's gardens, its central fountain and a private chapel.
The concept returned to a single shape throughout: a steel ring. It held the sculptural bridal bouquet, carried like a handbag rather than an armful. The same ring reappeared later in a 'ring for champagne' installation, turning the champagne pour into an interactive, playful moment rather than a routine one.
The shoot fell on an unexpectedly warm spring day. Light was abundant and soft even as temperatures reached 27°C, giving the burgundy palette a rich, warm cast in the afternoon light. Lace, fruit and drapery filled out the rest of the styling, running from the gardens through to the chapel and the reception table. Around 30 people took part in the shoot on the day, from the styled bridal party to the guests.
Getting Ready

Harper's look leaned into the shoot's mix of romance and edge. The gown, a lace design by Australian label Made With Love sourced through Bordeaux showroom About Love & Co, paired long lace sleeves with a removable high neckline. That detail added versatility to the finished silhouette. Hair was styled into a modern French twist. The beauty direction stayed polished and understated, radiant skin left to do most of the work. Liam's suit came from Un Jour Un Costume Bordeaux. The getting-ready hours were as considered as anything that followed.
Ceremony

The ceremony was staged as an intimate elopement inside Château de Mirambeau's private chapel, kept deliberately small in scale. Flowing drapery and the same deep-red florals that ran through the rest of the shoot dressed the space, framing the altar without crowding it. Stained glass windows above threw colour into the room. As the light shifted through the panes, it cast reflections over the scene below. It stood as the shoot's quiet centre, one contained scene rather than a full ceremony.

Guests were drawn into a single interactive installation: 'ring for champagne.' It made the champagne pour interactive and playful, exactly the effect the shoot was built for. Alongside it sat a grazing table of seasonal produce in burgundy tones. The detail carried the ring motif from the bridal bouquet into the guest experience, a small choice that tied two different moments of the day together.

Design and Details

The styling held to one clear brief: deep burgundy, worked across lace, textured fabric and drapery. The bridal bouquet carried the concept furthest, built around a steel ring. Its burgundy blooms did the work a traditional silhouette would not. The tablescape, laid out in a semi-circular sweep, picked up the same tones in fruit, fresh florals and lace-detailed stationery. The invitation suite, edged in matching lace, brought the palette down to the smallest printed detail. The ring shape and the burgundy tone ran through every layer of it, the kind of considered styling that suits French château wedding venues like this one.

Venue

Château de Mirambeau sits inside expansive gardens near Bordeaux, built around a central fountain and a private chapel. That combination gave the shoot both its formal centre and its quieter one. The team used the grounds in layers: garden scenes for the styled portraits and the chapel for the staged ceremony. It sits among the chateau wedding venues near Bordeaux that draw shoots and weddings alike to this part of Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The mix of formal architecture and open grounds gave the concept room to move without ever leaving the property.
