Château Lacanaud, an exclusive wedding chateau with accommodation near Bordeaux provided the canvas for an autumn editorial filled with French tradition and seasonal warmth. The creative direction, led by Karen from Perfect Day by Karen and Jenny from Fairy Fleur, celebrated a trio of classic French wedding symbols the Champagne Tower, Cellist, and Croquembouche. The wedding Chateau located in the picturesque Dordogne region, with its golden light and natural textures, lent itself beautifully to this vision of rustic luxury. The design paired elegance with intimacy, blending fine details, rich colour, and the comforting charm of countryside France.

Merlot Tones, Candlelight, and Romantic Ceremony Music
The shoot’s key colour theme Merlot flowed through every visual element. From the bride’s Appelez Moi Madame gown with soft bohemian structure to touches of velvet ribbon in the hair and stationery, each accent balanced depth and softness. The florals by Fairy Fleur brought texture and movement, combining cymbidium orchids, dahlias, anemones, larkspur, and celosia with trailing foliage. The ceremony scene unfolded to live music by cellist Samantha Bramley, whose modern repertoire matched the editorial’s refined mood. Even Bertie, the château’s resident dog, joined the narrative, walking the bride down the aisle in a playful nod to personal storytelling and authenticity.
French Tradition, Artistry, and the Team Behind the Vision
At the reception, an elegant tablescape featured layered plates, flickering candlelight, and floral compositions that framed Château Lacanaud’s architecture in warm tones. The highlight moments came with two unmistakably French traditions: a towering Champagne pyramid built with local méthode sparkling wine from Domaine de La Tuilerie La Breille, and a golden Croquembouche by Lucy McKelvie, sparklers illuminating the night. The day’s artistry was captured by Ala Breskaya, one of the most expressive wedding photographers in the South of France, alongside videographer Yann Blanc of WedStory, whose cinematic work echoed the editorial’s rhythm and light. The result was a celebration of joy, craft, and unmistakable French romance at Château Lacanaud.
