Beyond Time: A Wedding Styled with Grace and Historic Charm
Rachel and Éric’s wedding was an intimate celebration framed by the enchanting backdrop of the historic Château de Fère, located just a short distance from the Champagne region. The breathtaking scenery, along with the château’s deep-rooted history, made it an idyllic place for their romantic union. Partially in ruins, this 13th-century château holds echoes of a grand past. It once belonged to the grandson of Louis VI, King of France, and later to Charles IX, the Governor-General of France, giving the venue a majestic legacy that Rachel and Éric thoughtfully incorporated into their special day.
The couple exchanged vows amidst the quiet, timeless beauty of the château’s ancient stones, surrounded by an ambiance as enduring as their love. Soft pastels brightened the crumbling walls, creating an elegant contrast that felt serene and sophisticated. Delicate hues of blue, symbolizing loyalty and paying homage to the château’s royal history, were woven throughout the décor, adding a regal grace to the celebration.
An Upscale Fine Art Celebration
Dinner was served in front of the grand portico attributed to Jean Goujon, the famed sculptor and architect known for his work on the Louvre. The dreamy table setting, designed by wedding planner Rosalie Grandvoinnet of Instant de Caractère, brought a refined, upscale ambiance to the reception. Known for creating luxurious wedding experiences, Rosalie meticulously styled the scene to complement the historic setting. The concept came to life through a sophisticated and timeless design, perfectly capturing the essence of the château’s 800-year-old story.
Julie Chef, a fine art photographer, documented every intricate moment, bringing the soft romance and elegance of the setting into focus. To complete the scene, Charlène Breton of Chamade Communication crafted a distinct visual identity for the wedding, designing stationery inspired by toile de Jouy to add a poetic and historical touch. Together, these three wedding specialists created a day that effortlessly combined high-end style with a celebration of French history.
