A Wine Estate Wedding at Les Maisons du Bonheur, Beaujolais

Les Maisons du Bonheur has belonged to the Liger-Belair family since 1776. Daniéla and Christophe Liger-Belair began restoring the estate's abandoned winegrowers' houses more than thirty years ago, continuing to work the surrounding vines as they did. Daniéla now runs the estate with Juliette Liger-Belair, hosting one wedding at a time across the restored houses and stone cellars.

The estate is built around a handful of restored spaces. La Cuverie, the former wine cellar, keeps its original wine presses and oak barrels and sits beside the swimming pool. Salle Fleur de Lys is a 110-square-metre stone cellar with exposed beams, air-conditioned and soundproofed, with no time limit set on the festivities inside it. Outside, a half-hectare park set among the vines is used for ceremonies, with the estate's own vintage car and motorcycle museum kept as an indoor option should the weather turn.

On site, 28 bedrooms sleep up to 70 guests, and the kitchen serves food made from locally sourced ingredients, alongside wine produced on the estate itself across four appellations.

Les Maisons du Bonheur is one of the small wedding venues in France built around a single booking rather than a shared calendar. For Jay and Adrianna, that meant a wedding held entirely within the one property, the vines, the cellars, the pool and the rooms all belonging, for the length of their stay, to them and their guests alone.
