About This Venue
An art hotel on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice
Montcalm Nice is a hotel on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, reopening in June 2027 after a full renovation. It has a garden for ceremonies and receptions, and indoor event rooms called Venus 2, 3 and 4. The hotel stays open to its other guests during a wedding, and staff speak French and English.
The hotel has 142 bedrooms: 71 rooms facing the city, 12 superior rooms over the garden and 29 deluxe rooms with a partial sea view. There are also 30 suites, and 74 rooms can be set up as twins. The bridal suite is a 37 m² suite with a side view of the sea. For a wedding, the hotel usually holds a block of about 10 rooms for at least 2 nights, depending on the season and how full the hotel is.
Ceremonies are symbolic and are held in the 350 m² garden, which takes 70 guests. If it rains, the ceremony moves indoors to Venus 4, which also takes 70. For dinner, the garden seats 145, Venus 2 and 3 together seat 162, and all 3 rooms opened up together seat 216. The indoor rooms are set up for dinner and dancing.
All catering is in-house, cooked by the hotel's own chef, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free menus available. A tasting meal is included and brunch is available, although the hotel does not host a pre-wedding dinner. Wedding menus for 2027 start at €148 per person, including room hire, tables and chairs.
Decoration, flowers and music cost extra, and couples are free to choose their own suppliers for them, though the hotel recommends working with a wedding planner. Rooms have air conditioning, wifi and a coffee machine, and guests can use the pool, hot tub, spa and gym. There is indoor parking for 50 cars but no shuttle service. The hotel is wheelchair accessible, welcomes LGBTQ+ couples, children and pets, and holds the Green Key eco-label.
The Venue History
1988 · École de Nice, oblitération
The hotel was built in 1988, and during construction the artist Sacha Sosno set 2 monumental Venus sculptures into its façade. The hotel describes its style as oblitération, from the École de Nice, and calls the sculptures one of the city's most distinctive landmarks. Its link with art continues through artist residencies, temporary exhibitions, creative workshops and cultural events.
