About the Venue

Domaine de l’Écorcerie is located in Ligugé, just 15 minutes from the historic centre of Poitiers and its TGV station. The estate spans 25 hectares of wooded parkland and centres around an 18th-century mansion, originally a private residence, then a voluntary hospital in the mid-20th century. Acquired by the Boutaud family in 1974, the Domaine became a cherished location for family events before its recent transformation into a boutique hotel and exclusive wedding venue. The property now offers couples a secluded, character-rich location to host their day, with indoor and outdoor spaces designed to feel intimate yet expansive. Ceremonies can be held in the estate’s 19th-century chapel, filled with soft natural light from original stained-glass windows.

The 150m² reception hall accommodates up to 95 guests seated or 140 for a cocktail. The following morning, couples and guests can gather for a relaxed brunch and swim in the heated lap pool overlooking the forest.

The Domaine provides 12 on-site rooms and two independent apartments that sleep up to 32 guests. Each room is individually styled and named after historical figures from Poitiers. The selection includes two Classic Rooms, six Superior Rooms (one accessible for guests with reduced mobility), and four Deluxe Rooms.

For families, two apartments offer additional space and privacy: one features two bedrooms and a living room, while the other has one bedroom. All rooms have a warm, cosy atmosphere with plush beds, soft lighting, and serene views. An exclusive suite near the pool is reserved for the newlyweds, offering privacy and a forest-view terrace.

Amenities

The estate's wellness amenities are designed for post-wedding relaxation. The heated lap pool provides views over the forest park, while a sauna with transparent panels offers a tranquil space to recharge. Guests can gather for games of pétanque, woodland walks, or morning coffee in the garden. Two dedicated breakfast rooms serve seasonal and organic produce sourced from local Poitou farms.

Optional services include massage, hair and makeup, and beautician appointments upon request. The Domaine also offers concierge assistance and meal jar delivery for convenient dining. Decor setup is available ahead of the wedding, depending on availability, with no corkage fees.

Getting there

From Paris: The fastest route is by train. Take the TGV from Paris Montparnasse to Poitiers (approx. 1 hour 20 minutes), then a 15-minute drive or taxi to the Domaine. Alternatively, drive via the A10 in just under 3 hours.

From London: Take the Eurostar to Paris Gare du Nord, transfer to Montparnasse for the TGV to Poitiers, followed by a short 15-minute transfer by car. Flights from London to Poitiers-Biard Airport are also available, with a 15-minute journey to the venue.
