Domaine Beaulieu is a 12 hectare estate at Abzac in the Gironde, a 15 minute drive from Saint-Émilion in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. 7 of its hectares are private forest, and at its heart is a permaculture kitchen garden where the vegetables are picked the morning of each meal. A flock of Valais Blacknose sheep grazes the meadows, and a private pool and spa sit among the trees.
The estate hosts one wedding at a time, for couples who want the whole place to themselves. Dinners are served at a 60 seat oak table set in the kitchen garden at the forest edge, cooked over a wood fire in the Argentine tradition the owners brought back from years living abroad. Additional tables or a marquee extend capacity to 120, and 6 bedrooms across the main house and a renovated guest cottage sleep up to 12. A celebration can run across a weekend or a full week.
The Venue History
Domaine Beaulieu was created by its owners, Marie and Vincent, after years living in Argentina and South Africa, where they took up wood-fire cooking and a love of open country. They built the estate around a permaculture kitchen garden, a flock of Valais Blacknose sheep, and 7 hectares of forest, with the idea of a place that is lived in rather than simply hired.
