Nicolas Lacaille

Nicolas Lacaille is a French DJ and music director for destination weddings, based in Toulon. He plays weddings and private celebrations across Provence, the French Riviera and Monaco, and travels further for destination weddings. He has been DJing since 2006 and established his business in 2014. He works solo, supported by a partner agency.

He also created the Vinyl Bar, an interactive set-up for the cocktail hour. Guests browse a collection of 150 to 200 records and choose one for him to play. In his words, it gives guests "a way to connect through music" during a cocktail hour or welcome gathering.

Style

Nicolas developed his instinct in clubs and at events in Ibiza, Amsterdam, Saint-Tropez and Monaco, and he brings that international club culture to weddings. He does not rely on a fixed playlist. Instead, he agrees a clear musical direction with the couple beforehand. On the day he reads the room and shapes the energy live, from the first arrivals to the final dance.

Experience

Preparation starts with the couple's favourite music, their must-play songs, anything they would rather avoid and the mix of guests attending. Nicolas works directly with international couples and their planners in English and French. He covers the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and evening party, and coordinates with venues, musicians and other suppliers around the flow of the day.

Sound systems, ambient lighting and dancefloor production can be arranged through his partner agency, while Nicolas stays the couple's contact for the music. Weddings he has played include celebrations at Château de Tourreau in Sarrians and Château de Robernier in the Var, as well as a wedding in Antibes.
