A Spring Wedding Editorial at Château de Nainville-les-Roches

A spring editorial near Paris, with a garden ceremony, white and green florals, refined château interiors and a vintage car at Château de Nainville-les-Roches.

Château de Nainville-les-Roches stands in the Île-de-France, surrounded by formal gardens with gravel paths and clipped lawns arranged around the château's central axis. On an overcast spring day, photographer Séverine Alves and planner Garance Prestige brought together a team of wedding professionals for this French château editorial.

Inside, cream and gold salons feature panelled walls, gilded mouldings, crystal chandeliers and marble chimneypieces, while a chequerboard floor runs through the entrance hall. The styling was kept minimal, using the existing interiors as the setting for much of the editorial.

Ivory, white, soft green and gold formed the main colour palette. White roses, green hydrangea and foliage were used throughout, with arrangements kept predominantly low and simple.

For the ceremony setting, the team used the château's formal garden and positioned the aisle directly towards the front steps. White chairs lined the gravel path, while floral arrangements on plinths marked the entrance and aisle. The placement followed the existing symmetry of the garden and kept the château façade fully visible. Similar formal layouts are found across château wedding venues near Paris.

This is a styled editorial rather than a real wedding. Juliette and Arthur appear as the couple throughout, but no ceremony or wedding took place.

Getting Ready

Preparations were photographed inside the château's salons, where patterned wallpaper, gilt mirrors, marble chimneypieces and crystal chandeliers provided the backdrop.

The gown was photographed hanging in front of one of the tall windows, while other images show the bride barefoot on a damask sofa in a white lace robe.

Maison Zaied created the bridal gown, a long-sleeved lace design with an extended train. Mille & un Rêves and Glowradiance Studio created the beauty look, pairing natural makeup with a low pinned updo. Three bridesmaids dressed in sage green joined the bride as she prepared by the window.

Ceremony

The ceremony setting was created directly in front of the château, following the central line of the formal garden. Two sections of white chairs faced the façade, leaving the existing gravel path between them as the aisle.

White plinths at three different heights held the floral arrangements. Tall urns combined white roses with green hydrangea, while lower arrangements included trailing greenery and small glass vases.

No floral arch or hanging installation was added, leaving an uninterrupted view of the château behind the ceremony setting.

Bridal Portraits

The bridal portraits were photographed in several of the château's interiors, including the curved staircase, a long parquet-floored salon and the tall windows overlooking the garden. The length of the gown's train was particularly visible on the staircase and across the chequerboard floor of the entrance hall.

Palenzo Collezioni supplied the groom's tailoring: a pale jacket worn with dark trousers and a black bow tie for the interior portraits. His portraits were photographed in rooms with blue damask walls and dark wood panelling.

The couple portraits moved between the château's interiors and exterior.

Inside, Juliette and Arthur were photographed on the curved stone staircase with its iron balustrade, both climbing the stairs and standing together at its base beside a gilt mirror.

Outside, Excalibur Event supplied a white vintage car with deep red leather seats. It was photographed at the château's front steps and along the gravel drive, including a series of images with the bride's long veil extended behind the car.

Reception

The reception tables were arranged across two connecting cream and gold salons. Round tables were dressed with white linen and surrounded by white Napoleon chairs, with gold cutlery, fluted glassware and menus finished with narrow green ribbons.

White roses and green hydrangea returned in the centrepieces, arranged low across the tables. White taper candles in gold candlesticks added height without obscuring the surrounding interiors.

Nidas Art Cake created a white tiered cake decorated with pleated wafer-paper fans edged with pearl beading. The design was left without flowers and displayed in front of the mirror above the marble chimneypiece.

Maison Meor created the stationery, with Pretty Big Event responsible for the styling.

In the entrance hall, a gilt-framed mirror displayed a welcome message and the couple's names in white script. Small fluted frames were used for the table names, while menus were folded on each place setting and finished with green ribbon.

The floral design remained consistent throughout, using white roses, green hydrangea and foliage for the ceremony and reception. Arrangements were generally kept low, allowing the château interiors and table settings to remain visible.

Séverine Alves photographed the estate, with Frames Wedding capturing the editorial on film.

Château de Nainville-les-Roches is built in brick and pale stone beneath grey slate roofs. Formal gardens extend from the front of the château, with symmetrical lawns and gravel paths leading towards the entrance, while the wider estate includes surrounding parkland.

For this editorial, the gardens provided the setting for the outdoor ceremony, while the reception was arranged inside the château's connecting salons. Both settings allowed the team to use the existing architecture and interiors without adding large-scale decorative installations. It sits among the wedding venues in the Île-de-France that can host a garden ceremony and an indoor reception on the same grounds.
