A Sequoia Ceremony and an S-Shaped Table at L'orangerie du Manoir
Bérénice and Benjamin met at an electro party at a shooting range. At L'orangerie du Manoir, his brother led the ceremony and each guest had…
"We were at a shooting range, and Benjamin was my target," Bérénice writes of the night they met, at an electro party held at the range in Koenigshoffen. Among at least 500 people, she spotted him in a backwards red cap, with a shirt tied around his waist. His cap fell off three times and his phone twice, but he still got her number.
A rainy week of messages followed before she agreed to see him again, and they have been together ever since. Benjamin later proposed in Barcelona, on their first family holiday, when their baby handed Bérénice a little box with the ring.
They married in summer at L'orangerie du Manoir, a wedding venue in Grand Est, with 75 guests. Bérénice's inspiration revolved around a handful of words: "tuxedo, martini glass, silver candlesticks, hydrangeas, drama." On the day there were candlesticks and lots of drapery, in decor that followed the style of Le Comptoir du Az'Art's bouquet.

Ceremony

For the ceremony, each guest had a parasol and a fan in case the sun became too intense. Benjamin's brother officiated the non-religious ceremony in the courtyard beside the orangery, beneath an imposing sequoia, where the couple stood before a draped backdrop adorned with floral arrangements. As well as exchanging rings, Bérénice and Benjamin chose to seal a bottle of wine they will open on their third anniversary.
Bridal Portraits

Bérénice wore a sleek strapless dress made without lace, with a veil finished in intricate edging. At her neck was a pearl necklace, a family heirloom crafted by her sister-in-law. Her makeup by Sandra BNS was light, and together with an updo by Eric Huaa, it brought out her freckles.
Benjamin wore a tuxedo with his medium-length hair slicked back, a James Bond look.
Couple Portraits

Although a major heat wave in Alsace had only just ended, the day itself was mild, under a sky dotted with cloud. The light stayed soft all day, and the couple had just enough time for their portraits in the last rays of sunshine.

Reception

For the meal, the head table stretched the length of the room in an S shape. It was arranged that way so that it could be as close as possible to the guests' tables, which were round.
