From NYC to Paris: A Chic Brasserie Wedding in the Heart of the City
Lee and Kevin's 90-guest Paris wedding at Restaurant l'Ile featured a Seine cruise, outdoor ceremony beneath the trees, and candlelit brasserie dinner.
Ninety guests flew to Paris for a weekend that started on the Seine and ended in a candlelit brasserie on Ile Saint-Germain. Lee and Kevin, New Yorkers who share a love of architecture, food, and art, chose Restaurant l'Ile specifically because it was not a chateau. They wanted the warmth of a lived-in Parisian neighbourhood in the heart of Ile-de-France, amber light through vintage glass, and the particular hum of a brasserie that locals have known about for years. Dream Paris Wedding shaped a two-day celebration that opened with a private Paris Seine cruise past the city's monuments and closed with a long dinner under the trees.
Getting Ready

The first evening brought all ninety guests aboard the Seine cruise, drinks in hand, the Eiffel Tower and Notre-Dame drifting past the windows. It set the tone for everything that followed: gather the people you love, put them somewhere with a view, and let the city do the rest. Getting ready the next morning happened at Le Grand Hotel Cayre, where Lee stepped into a strapless corset gown with clean, modern lines. Pearl drop earrings caught the window light, and Alesia Solo shaped a low sculptural updo and soft natural makeup that suited the Parisian setting. Kevin's tailored suit was understated and sharp.
Ceremony

The ceremony took place outdoors on the restaurant's island terrace, beneath tall trees and an open sky. Guests sat as soft June light filtered through the canopy, and Lee and Kevin exchanged vows to the sound of gentle breezes and heartfelt readings from friends who had travelled across the world. The layout was intentionally simple: no arch, no aisle runner, just chairs, the couple, and the trees. That simplicity let the emotion carry the moment, and it showed on every face in the audience.

Couple Portraits

After the speeches and the dancing, wedding photographer Raphaelle Granger walked Lee and Kevin out into the streets of Paris. They crossed a pedestrian crossing near Haussmann buildings in the last of the summer light, paused against a carved stone column with the tower rising behind them, and stood together beside an ornate wall as golden evening light fell across their shoulders. Granger's documentary approach, shaped by a photojournalism and fashion background, meant no posing: just two people in a city they already loved. The resulting frames feel less like portraits and more like the private walk at the end of the best night of your life.

Reception

The planning and floral team at Dream Paris Wedding had dressed long candlelit tables with seasonal blooms in warm neutrals, creamy tones, and touches of green that complemented the brasserie mood without overpowering it. The Restaurant l'Ile kitchen served Parisian brasserie cuisine. Toasts ran long, and the speeches drew tears from Lee. Santiago Falcon on violin and the Popcorn Factory orchestra carried the evening through its best hours, and Amandinem provided the wedding cake. It was the kind of dinner that runs late because nobody wants the night to end.
