Intimate Wedding in France

The Intimate wedding in France

Today we are going to the South West for an intimate wedding in France that is sure to warm your heart. Created by FWS vendors, wedding planner Clémentine and photographer Mark Ward from Awardweddings. This Fall wedding really represented the love this couple shared. Let’s hear all about it from this husband and wife vendor team.

They set their heart on Domaine du Beyssac, an old abbey in the countryside

Melanie and Matthieu live in Sydney and they headed to South West France, where Matthieu is from, to celebrate their union with their close family and friends. They set their heart on Domaine du Beyssac, an old abbey in the countryside, and had a beautiful Autumn wedding.

Awardweddings nailed every item to their wishes.

They had a very intimate and personal celebration. The couple invited their closest family members and friends, who traveled from Australia and France. They planned their day in an intimate setting with a humanist ceremony in the garden under the tree.

It was a  very personal day. The couple put a lot of thought into their styling, from the layout of the day to the decorations, they nailed every item to their wishes. Each piece of the day had a real meaning to them and referred to a part of their lives.

They enjoyed a six-course traditional French meal

Following a cocktail reception around the pool, under the arches of the abbey on the sound of acoustic guitar, they enjoyed a six-course traditional French meal. Melanie’s dress was made by an Australian fashion designer called Colette Dinnigan, she has loved her work since her teenage years.

Even Melanie’s jewellery was from her 21st birthday present from her godparents. They really wanted to treat their guests to an amazing culinary experience they would remember forever! Foie gras, lobster, trou Normand, duck, cheese and croquembouche complemented by tailored wines and spirits to each dish.

This was definitely a big focus of the day! Then they danced it all off with a fab DJ. The decorations included memories from their lives with photos of the day they met. They used a lot of decorative items that had a personal meaning to them, like a brass pot from their parents’ marriage, wine boxes from a winery they visited. Stationery was handmade by the couple, which they enjoyed making together.

As for the styling, the couple went for a timeless, subtle and elegant look on this golden autumnal day. They started with light colors and a mixture of mismatched cut glass vases and brass candlesticks. The gorgeous seasonal flowers were white, soft cream, blush pink and silvery foliage that really complimented the whole event.

We love when couples are thoughtful of every piece of their wedding. Your wedding day should be a look into your lives together after all the best parts are in the journey!
