There’s nothing quite like a classic French wedding combined with some modern twist, yet still look stylish and classy as ever. Today on the blog, we present a treasure trove of Classic French Wedding ideas right at the heart of Domaine d’Essendieras.
This photo shoot was shot with lots of creativity by the talented Helen Warner. Let’s read about her post on how she and her team of wedding professionals like stylist Aisle & Style; florist Poésie d’un Jour add some luxury and drama to the place, while Kerrie Langfield took care of the bride model’s make up.
Traditional weddings are as popular today as ever before and they have certainly never gone out of fashion. But with so many modern-day style influences, it can be really difficult to achieve a cohesive look when introducing the latest trends into your classic wedding style.
The inspiration behind this shoot was to demonstrate that you can bring together contemporary and traditional to create a timeless and elegant wedding that never dates.
From here we blended in contemporary elements with details such as the cake and flowers. By keeping these modern influences minimalist, like with this two tier ombre cake by Edible Essence, dressed in soft natural silk ribbon, you avoid any big bold statements and style faux pas. Flowers were from Poésie d’un Jour.
With such a dramatic venue it was essential to ensure the bridal attire stayed un-fussy. We chose a classic look but added a modern twist with this stunning ivory two piece which combined an embroidered halter top with stylish silk chiffon skirt with small train.
Working closely with Oh Wonder Calligraphy, the stationer on this look, kept in with the style of the venue. Everything was printed on pure cut card and included a vellum wrap with wax seal detail. To add in a further modern touch, the stationer designed the place settings using rose quartz with the names hand painted in white calligraphy.
The outdoor courtyard was the perfect location to set up for the wedding breakfast. The almond and cream silk table runners contrasted perfectly with the dark wood of the old bench style tables.
The florals consisted of a eucalyptus runner adorned with pale pink and cream roses and single stems dotted along the table provided additional coverage. We chose classic silver cutlery and simple white plates and glassware to allow the textures of the natural wood, greenery and silk runners to be the focal point.
Everything from the colours, the textures and atmosphere was considered when styling and planning this shoot. For all bride-to-be who dreams to be unique, yet timeless, this inspiration shoot is just what you might be looking for!
