“Once upon a time, a British girl met an Italian boy…

Thank you Christine Palvadeau from Christie’s Weddings & Events for sharing with us this beautiful effortless wedding of cultures between England and Italy in France. It is so beautiful to see nods to the bride and groom’s heritage reflected in their special day and I hope this shoot gives inspiration for how it can be included and remain tasteful and romantic…

“Once upon a time, a British girl met an Italian boy in Rome and discovered they both shared a love for France and it’s Lyon region.

This Effortless Wedding was held at the same place as the proposal.

It was only fitting that the wedding of their dreams should take place where the proposal took place. Thus, the couple wanted to get married at this same venue.

Their wedding was inspired with dolce vita Italian themes and subtle touches of British culture.

They chose a stunning colour palette for their wedding of red, green and white like the colours of the Italian flag.

As marble is a stone from Italy, they chose a marble table plan, as well as marble plates. Olive oil was presented as favours for the guests, typical of Italy’s Tuscan region.

Beautiful Italian food such as foccacia, charcuterie, antipasto, tomatoes and mozzarella was served. As well as traditional Italian cocktails at the cocktail bar, such as Bellini’s. Each cocktail came with an explanation of it’s history.

Embracing the British side

They also chose Champagne Lanson as it is the official champagne endorsed by the Queen of England. Embracing the British side of their union, and a classic MG car, of course!

This wedding has a strong feminine lead embracing the modern world we live in. Evident as the bride turns around convention and is the one driving the MG car when they leave the Chateau!”
