About This Venue
A private, whole-estate château for weddings in the Golfe du Morbihan, South Brittany
Domaine Le Mezo is a 25-hectare estate at Ploeren, 10 minutes from Vannes in South Brittany. Built around a renovated château on the site of a 15th-century manor, it sits inside the Parc Naturel Régional du Golfe du Morbihan. Couples take the whole estate for a single wedding across a full weekend, with private use of the château, its 19th-century outbuildings, and the surrounding park.
Receptions centre on La Grande Salle, a 440 m² hall of exposed stone and oak beams under an 8-metre ceiling that seats up to 350. A heated safari tent adds room for a further 300 at table, or 600 for a standing reception, while a 19th-century greenhouse, the château terrace, and the open park each offer a ceremony or drinks setting. Catering is in-house, from a kitchen holding 2 Gault&Millau toques and cooking with local, seasonal, and organic produce.
The estate sleeps up to 240 across the château, restored farmhouses, dormitory lofts, heated yurts, and a cluster of wood-built eco-lodges. An 18-metre indoor pool, a spa and yoga studio, and tennis and pétanque courts sit among the 25 hectares of parkland. Le Mezo runs on a biomass boiler and solar panels, and its sustainability work has been recognised by the Marque Bretagne and 2 responsible-event awards.
The Venue History

The Château du Mezo stands on the site of an earlier manor first recorded in 1427. Its outbuildings, carriage house and greenhouse, La Grande Serre, were added in the second half of the 19th century. A full restoration of the château and its outbuildings ran from 2019, and the estate opened for weddings in the summer of 2023. A group of wood-built eco-lodges, Les Lodges du Mezo, followed in 2025.
