Château de Chignat is a private 12th-century estate in Vertaizon, just 15 minutes east of Clermont-Ferrand in the Puy-de-Dôme. Surrounded by volcanic countryside and close to Pont-du-Château, this wedding chateau in Auvergne has been extensively restored to host luxury celebrations and professional gatherings.
The entire property is available for exclusive hire from Friday to Sunday or longer, accommodating between 50 and 400 guests across a variety of spaces. Set on 6000m² of lush grounds, the venue features three distinct reception rooms, a 400m² marquee, multiple lounges and bars, and extensive accommodation.
With thoughtful styling that incorporates reclaimed materials, brocante finds, and rustic finishes, the interiors evoke a warm countryside aesthetic. Château de Chignat is owned by HDM Hospitality, a group with over a decade of experience in premium event and hospitality venues, including Château de Bois Rigaud and alpine properties in Val d’Isère and Alpe d’Huez.
Accommodation:
Overnight capacity in summer reaches up to 95 guests across characterful spaces. Inside the château, twelve bedrooms each feature a private bathroom and WC. Two contemporary lofts, approximately 350 m² apiece, offer large lounges, TV corners and equipped kitchens, with five and seven double bedrooms respectively for group stays.
An annexe apartment adds two double rooms and three quad rooms. At the gatehouse, a detached family house operates as a gîte for 15 additional guests. Vintage caravans and four glamping lodge tents expand lodging during the June to September season. Linen and towels are provided, with beds prepared for arrival.

Event infrastructure is extensive. Three reception rooms sit within renovated barns: the 290 m² Dame-Jeanne for 200 cabaret, 250 banquet or 400 standing, and the 135 m² Salle aux Arrosoirs for 70 cabaret or 150 standing, plus a third room for mid-size gatherings.
A 400 m² outdoor marquee seats 300 beside 6000 m² of landscaped lawns. Bars and lounges include a 60 m² pool bar with direct pool access. Facilities cover Wi-Fi, projection screens, audiovisual equipment, heating and air conditioning. Furniture is included, with tables, 300 chairs, high tables and garden sets, alongside a dedicated caterer’s office. Reception tents included.
From Paris: the fastest route is a direct flight to Clermont-Ferrand Auvergne Airport, around one hour, then a 12 km drive to Vertaizon. Alternatively, drive via A71 then A711 in about 4 hours 20 minutes, or take the train to Clermont-Ferrand and a 15 to 20 minute taxi.
From London: fly to Lyon-Saint Exupéry, then hire a car for the two-hour drive via A89 and A72 to the A711. Another option is London to Paris by Eurostar, onward train to Clermont-Ferrand, then a short drive or taxi to the château.
Corporate gatherings are welcomed year-round with flexible packages. Within the historic house, four meeting rooms styled for coworking host 10 to 60 participants. In the barns, three large rooms accommodate 50 to 400 for conferences, product launches or gala dinners. All spaces include Wi-Fi and high-resolution projection.
Catering is available in-house for breakfast, coffee breaks, buffets or seated meals. Outdoors, a marquee with 350 seats supports plenaries beside the terrace and pool. The cocktail bar can be privatized for 20 to 150 guests. Team-building options make use of the relaxation area, sauna, pétanque courts and expansive lawns and fire pit.
