About Gioia Visuals
What We Love
Gioia Visuals is the luxury wedding photography and filmmaking duo of Chiara Barrasso and Jean-Emmanuel, based near Aix-en-Provence in the South of France. Married partners as well as creative collaborators since 2011, Chiara leads the stills work and Jean-Emmanuel shoots and edits the films. 'Gioia' means joyful visuals in Italian, and their work is rooted in the Mediterranean light, editorial styling and refined craft that their Italian and French heritage instil.
Style
Their approach blends editorial aesthetics with documentary authenticity, drawing inspiration from fashion, cinema and the natural light of Provence to create images and films that feel both timeless and modern. The duo limits the number of weddings they take each year to stay creatively invested in every couple and deliver a bespoke experience from the first consultation to the final gallery and film.
Experience
Before founding Gioia Visuals, Jean-Emmanuel worked as an engineer and Chiara completed a master's degree in marketing. That precision and creative discipline now shapes how they photograph and film: discreet, refined, deeply personal. Based in Provence, they travel regularly to the French Riviera, the Luberon, the Amalfi Coast, Tuscany, Spain and across Europe. They are certified drone pilots, fluent in English, French and Italian, and also shoot engagement sessions and intimate elopements with the same level of intention and artistry as a grand celebration.

- ELOPEMENTS + INTIMATE WEDDINGS: Same artistry and intention as larger celebrations, from sunrise in the Luberon to small gatherings on the Amalfi Coast.
- DELIVERY: Photos via private online gallery in 5 to 6 weeks. Films in 4K via private cloud drive in 10 to 12 weeks.
