Bonjour lovely readers! I have real wedding to share with you today of lofty heights, well when I say lofty I mean a beautiful romantic wedding at altitude, 1908 meters overlooking the longest glacier in France planned by Haute Weddings.
As long time regulars to Chamonix, Kari and Lindsay are very outdoorsy and love sports and wanted to get married in such a personal and special place. Guests took the little red cog train up the mountain before reaching the spectacular site. The Mer de Glace is one of the top 20 most visited sites in France but Kari & Lindsay privatized the venue for their wedding ceremony and reception starting at sunset.
Once the last tourists left Kari and Lindsay walked down the aisle together arm in arm for the start of their ceremony with a female vocalist singing Edith Piaf songs that carried high up to the heavens.
Monica from Haute Weddings says:”The couples’ close friends and family share their passion for the mountains and the attire definitely reflected the mix of styles! But whether wearing high heels, or running shoes with fluorescent colored laces, all guests had tears in their eyes during the ceremony with the power of the mountains definitely stirring their soles (souls :))
Cocktail and dinner was held at the historic hotel that has welcomed mountaineers, explorers, poets and adventurer’s since the 1800’s. The long rustic tables were decorated with jam jar vases holding fusia and light pink colored peonies. The guests were treated to local Genépi and pretty macarons before taking the train down to the valley floor at 2am after hours of laughter and dancing!”
