Ceremony Plinths and a Spritz Bar at Château Barthélémy
Charlotte and Valentin's late spring wedding at Château Barthélémy in Hauts-de-France, with a ceremony beneath the trees, a Spritz bar and dinner in a tent.
Charlotte and Valentin met while working a summer season together at a hotel in Cannes. They have lived in Bangkok for four years, and by their photographer's account their story has grown around food and travel, especially Japan. For their wedding they returned to Valentin's home region to celebrate with their closest loved ones, 100 guests in all, at Château Barthélémy.
In the words of MCAELICIA, who photographed the wedding, the idea was a "backyard celebration at a French château", filled with colour. The ceremony took place in the gardens and dinner in the château's tent. It was a sunny late spring afternoon, and the light lasted into the evening.

The ceremony was held beneath mature trees, among wild, colourful flowers and tall garden greenery. Margot of Atelier Marguerite set blooms spilling from the ceremony plinths. Charlotte and Valentin spoke personal vows, and the ceremony included the ritual of breaking a glass.

Drinks Apollo ran a dedicated Spritz bar that welcomed guests with an aperitivo, and a jar of dried orange slices sat on its counter. Dried orange appeared again at dinner, on the printed cards at the place settings, set over fringed pink napkins.
For dinner, the table took its inspiration from Italian summer tables, laid with tableware and rentals from Pampa & Tralala. The design paired pinks, lilacs, oranges, soft yellows and whites with textured flowers, and small ribbed white vases of flowers stood on the white tablecloths.
