Location: La Creuse • Nouvelle-Aquitaine • South of France
In the heart of La Creuse, surrounded by shimmering lakes and whispering pines, Château de la Cazine rises like something from a French love story which, fittingly, it is. Built in the late 1800s as a wedding gift from its owner to his bride, this romantic fairytale wedding estate in Nouvelle-Aquitaine became the perfect backdrop for Katy and Bertram’s destination celebration. Their families travelled from across Europe and North America to join them for a weekend of joy and connection. The outdoor ceremony unfolded in golden light, the exclusive use chateau with luxurious accomodation’s reflection shimmering across the nearby water. With soft pink and white tones accented by touches of gold, their design was elegant, understated, and deeply personal a true reflection of the couple’s story.

From a Paris Proposal to a French Château Celebration
Their love story began in Zurich and took its most romantic turn in Paris. On a bright February morning, Bertram surprised Katy with a spontaneous weekend away, leading her unknowingly to a five-star hotel overlooking the rooftops of the city. There, on the balcony with the Sacré-Cœur in view, he proposed. That sense of surprise and wonder carried through to their wedding in France, where the ceremony took place under open skies surrounded by family and lifelong friends. Katy wore an ethereal BERTA gown, her soft waves and natural makeup crafted by Carey Hawkins Make Up, a French Wedding Style vendor. The ceremony was emotional, filled with laughter and tears as the couple saw each other for the first time at the aisle a moment they’ll never forget.
A Photographer’s Touch and a Perfect Save
Christina Sarah Photography, one of the experienced wedding photographers in the South of France, captured the day with her signature light and romantic style. Her imagery reflected the atmosphere perfectly calm morning tones giving way to golden-hour warmth. When a last-minute setback threatened to derail the videography, Christina stepped in, connecting the couple with Alessandro Pardi, whose cinematic films preserved the emotion and rhythm of the day. From that moment on, the celebration flowed effortlessly: dinner under chandeliers, laughter spilling onto the terrace, and the sparkle of gold details against soft evening light. As the night drew on, the château felt alive with joy, each frame capturing not just a wedding, but a story of resilience, love, and connection across borders.
