Pink and Emerald Styled Shoot at Hôtel Alfred Sommier, Paris
A styled editorial at Hôtel Alfred Sommier, Paris: a courtyard ceremony on hydrangea-lined steps, a pink and emerald dinner table and three bridal looks.

In the 8th arrondissement, Hôtel Alfred Sommier, a historic wedding venue in Paris, provided three main settings for this spring editorial: its cobbled courtyard, historic salons and a glass-walled room overlooking the garden.
The ceremony was arranged in the courtyard at the foot of the hotel's double staircase. Hydrangeas and green foliage covered both sides of the steps, with rows of cane-backed chairs set on the cobbles below.
Inside, the dinner table brought together pink and emerald. Blush linen covered one long table, with emerald lamps, green velvet menus, pink glassware and deep pink calla lilies. The bridal wardrobe changed three times across the day, from a lace robe during preparations to a cathedral-train gown for the ceremony and a short strapless dress for the reception.
Carolyn and Sven modelled the couple. Isabelle Planner planned the editorial, D Conception designed the setting and L'instant présent Event created the floral arrangements.
The team imagined a couple who wanted their wedding to feel like “the most beautiful dinner party of their lives”, with the ceremony, dinner and evening all held within the hotel.
Getting Ready

Carolyn prepared in one of the hotel's salons, surrounded by gilt mouldings, wall sconces and parquet flooring.
She began in a lace robe, holding her pearl-trimmed heels in front of a gold damask curtain.
Mélissa Guervil and Kristen DC Makeup did her hair and make-up.
Two bridesmaids wore pale yellow satin dresses by Billy J Bridal and helped Carolyn into her ceremony gown. Once she was dressed, they spread its long train across the parquet floor.
Sven prepared separately elsewhere in the hotel, where two groomsmen straightened his bow tie beneath a large modern painting.
Ceremony

The ceremony was held outside in the hotel's cobbled courtyard.
The Parisian Celebrant led it at the foot of the double staircase. Hydrangeas and green foliage were banked densely along both sides of the steps, forming the main floral installation.
Cane-backed chairs stood in rows across the courtyard.
Carolyn and Sven read their vows from folded cards. Carolyn wore her cathedral-train gown with a long veil by Atelier Swan extending behind her.
Flower girls in peach tulle dresses by Bella Dress Paris stood among the ceremony chairs.
On the staircase, Carolyn and Sven kissed beneath a green banner suspended from the façade.
Bridal Portraits

Carolyn's ceremony gown came from Marion Scott Bridal.
The strapless dress was made in lace with a cathedral-length train and worn with jewellery from Maison Salvat and Maison Salmon.
Inside the hotel, on the main stone staircase, the train spread across several steps behind her beside the wrought-iron balustrade.

Bridal Party

Reception

Dinner was set inside a glass-walled room overlooking the hotel's garden.
One long table ran through the room, covered in pink linen and set with flowers, candles, emerald lamps and pink glassware.
Carolyn first joined the table in her wedding gown, now styled with lace sleeves and pearl details.
Later in the evening, she changed into a short strapless dress by La Mariée Capricieuse.
Une idée Djenny created a sculpted white wedding cake decorated with calla lilies. It stood between towers of strawberries and cherries from La Frutteria.
Carolyn cut the cake in her short dress, while Sven fed her fruit from the display.
Back in the salon, Sven dipped Carolyn into a kiss, and before long both had put on dark sunglasses.
Design and Details

D Conception designed the reception around pink and emerald.
The long dinner table was covered in pink linen. Fluted glass candleholders and pink glassware ran along its length, with emerald table lamps under scalloped shades between them.
Each place setting included a scalloped white charger, gold cutlery, a green velvet menu tied with ribbon and a small oval name card.
L'instant présent Event created the flowers.
Anthuriums, calla lilies, roses and carnations in blush, pink and green were kept low between the candles and lamps.
Hydrangeas were used in larger quantities: they covered the courtyard staircase for the ceremony and were banked at the foot of the dinner table.
In the garden, a wooden trellis held oval escort cards suspended from ribbons, with more hydrangeas underneath.
Flat Lays

M&I Creation Agency created the stationery suite.
The invitation featured Carolyn and Sven's names within a printed trellis border and was paired with a pink envelope.
Oval place cards were finished with ribbons, in the same shape as the escort cards in the garden.
The stationery was laid on green with pearls, rosebuds, anthuriums and macarons stamped with Carolyn and Sven's initials.
The wedding rings were threaded onto the stem of a single calla lily.
