Hello humpday! We hope you’re having a fabulous week so far? Today in the blog we bring to you a wedding at Le Galinier de Lourmarin, a destination wedding venue that looks like it’s straight from a postcard! We witness the jubilant event as captured through the lens of Mark Ward.
Georgia and Florent exchanged vows in the verdant lawns of the 3-hectare park of Lourmarin, Provence. The day was full of love, fun, and laughter and flowing with beautiful artistry among their entourage.
Here’s their story.
Georgia and Florent, a Franco-Australian couple based in Sydney, decided to tie the knot in France, where Florent is from.
They chose a very picturesque and romantic villa in Provence, just as you would dream of – old stones, surrounded by lavender and olive trees.
The wedding took place in the sunny June 2018. Photographer Mark Ward from Awardweddings, captured the day with digital and analogue photography.
Because Florent is hails from France and a native speaker, she and her partner planned the wedding themselves. They sourced a great team of talented suppliers based in the South of France, which made it easier and saves a lot of transport than bringing suppliers abroad.
Their style
They started the day by getting ready on site both bride, groom and their families. It was a great joyful and relaxed atmosphere.
Georgia and her bridal party went for a natural look enhancing their skin tone, and wavy down hair. Hair and Make-up was done by Terre et Ciel.
The bride looked stunning in her Karen Willis Holmes dress, an Australian designer. Her shoes were from Tony Bianco and her jewelry by Roman & French.
The bridesmaids looked gorgeous in their silk dusty pink dresses, purchased from Shona Joy in Australia. Florent and his groomsmen wore navy blue suits from Hugo Boss. Florent’s shoes were from Aquila.
The wedding styling
With such a gorgeous and picturesque venue, you just need simple decorations to complement the settings. Georgia and Florent went for pastel flowers of light purple, pink and reds, cream and eucalyptus. Flower arrangements were made by Potins de Fleurs.
They held an outdoor ceremony by the pond on the grounds of the property. After the ceremony, the couple drove away in an old light blue vintage 2CV. How French! The photographer stole them away to go to the local chateau where Florent proposed, to get some couple photos.
The cocktail reception took place villa courtyard. The dinner was set-up by Be Lounge under an open sided tent by the pool, with views of the hills. They had long rows of rectangular tables decorated with flowers, elegant stationery and festoon lights.
At sunset, the photographer invited the couple to the steal away the final golden rays of sunshine before it dipped behind the mountains. They got some absolutely stunning photos in the meadows.
After a sumptuous dinner catered by Brunet Frères and heartfelt speeches, the couple took their first dance under a magical umbrella of sparklers held aloft by their friends and family.
To wrap up the day, Mark, the photographer, captured some cinematographic photos of the couple enjoying a few minutes alone under the festoon lights in the villa courtyard.
Congratulations to Georgia and Florent from the team at French Wedding Style!
