Good morning French Wedding Style readers and welcome to another wonderful week! We are excited to share with you today this multinational Provence destination wedding which was planned by our bride and groom all the way from California.
The day was held at the beautiful venue Le Mas de la Rose a 25-hectare park perfect for Huanhuan and Illia’s authentic Provence wedding.
We’ll now pass you over to wedding planner Anne-Laure from Et Voila Weddings who will be walking us through today’s Provence destination wedding…
“Huanhuan and Illia live in California. Huanhuan’s family is from China and Illia’s family is from Ukraine. The couple wanted to choose a neutral place to get married, that would be to a fairly equal distance for all their guests.”
“The couple was after a simple, elegant and romantic wedding for a small, intimate number of guests. They had seen some pictures of Provence and loved it, and they were after an outdoor ceremony and dinner, so the South of France seemed a great place to hold their special day. They could not travel to Provence before their wedding so they planned it all from California and discovered it all a couple days before their big day!”
“Some of the guests only spoke Chinese and some who only spoke Russian. It was important to create a cosy, intimate atmosphere, where guests felt at ease and could have their own space. That is why they chose Le Mas de la Rose for their wedding. It was all they were after: beautiful, authentic with Provencal stones and green shutters, comfortable, and intimate. The outdoors are stunning, with a gorgeous pool and beautiful gardens so everyone could enjoy Provence at its best.. There is also a beautiful lavender field at the back of the garden and above all that is what the couple loved.”
“The colour scheme was defined by the venue and its surroundings. Lavender of course, which we mixed with soft colours, to nicely dress the décor without overpowering the setting. To achieve this we incorporated some nudes and soft pinks in the flowers. Finally, we added a touch of red, the bride being Chinese. We used peonies, roses, Astilbe, ranunculus, sweet peas and red berries.”
“Huanhuan purchased her dress in California, which she matched with sparkly Jimmy Choo’s, while Illia forgot his suit in Paris on his way to Provence! After trying to find a quick shipping option he finally went suit shopping in the closest town on the morning of the wedding!”
“Unfortunately all of Illia’s family was not able to travel for the wedding, so present guests took turns at holding an iPad during ceremony and speeches so these missed ones could be part of the celebration!”
“Because the party was so intimate, the couple was able to hold their wedding dinner in front of the property, under a centenary tree and romantic fairy lights. After dinner the couple had their first dance on the terrace before moving to the dance floor. The bride specially asked for a crepes cake as her wedding cake, crepes being so French, and let’s say it crepes cake look really gorgeous!”
Congratulations Huanhuan and Illia from everyone here at French Wedding Style!
