A Last-Minute Church Change at Château d'Hénonville

Léa and Jérôme's late-spring wedding at Château d'Hénonville: a pizza welcome dinner, a last-minute change of church and an artist drawing the guests.

By Anne-Sophie Boubals | Published 25 September 2026 | Last reviewed

Léa and Jérôme married at Château d'Hénonville in late spring. Their photographer, Jennifer Buckle, had met them before in Montmartre and, in her words, "instantly loved their connexion". Her summary of the pair is three words long: "They are naturals."

Not everything went to plan. A fair set up outside the place they had chosen for the ceremony, which moved at the last minute. The celebrations also included a welcome dinner, with pizzas made by Hokis. The cocktail was "gorgeous", by Jennifer's account, and an artist spent a few hours drawing the guests. Léa and Jérôme did not marry in the church they had first chosen. A fair had set up directly in front of it, and the noise was such that, as Jennifer puts it, "it was impossible to celebrate anything in that church". So, at the last minute, they married in another church instead.
