Location: Marseille • Provence • South of France
The private island of Île Degaby, an exclusive wedding venue off the coast of Marseille became the setting for a striking modern wedding inspiration. Accessible only by boat, the island offered total seclusion surrounded by the vast blue of the Mediterranean. Its raw stone architecture and panoramic sea views contrasted beautifully with sleek, fashion-forward styling, creating a scene that felt both dramatic and romantic. The concept embraced Marseille’s creative pulse while celebrating the island’s sense of escape a place where architecture, light and design meet in effortless harmony. For couples seeking something distinctive, Île Degaby redefines what a French Riviera wedding venue can look like.

Bold Design and Striking Ceremony by the Sea
The ceremony unfolded beneath a graphic arch facing the open sea, framed by sleek, minimalist seating. The colour story shifted throughout the day from crisp whites and burgundy in the sun to warm amber tones as the sky changed at dusk. The bride, Axelle, wore an architectural gown by Rime Arodaky with an asymmetrical cut and dramatic train, holding a handbag-style bouquet that blurred the line between fashion and florals. The groom, Khalil, stood beside her in a couture-inspired cape that echoed the island’s theatrical setting. As night fell, their looks transformed: Axelle shimmered in a pearl-embellished Sonia B. gown, while Khalil turned to a timeless black suit from Espace Homme Cérémonie.
The Creative Direction and Visual Harmony of Île Degaby
The vision and execution of this editorial came from Amel Montel, one of Provence’s most creative wedding planners and designers, known for merging artful structure with natural emotion. Her work transformed Île Degaby into a living installation — a balance of marine textures, greenery and candlelight. The dinner setup, arranged as a perfect geometric square, was softened by fluid florals and warm illumination. Minimalist stationery by Atelier Novem and contemporary tableware by Maison Options reinforced the refined aesthetic, while Les Délices de Gladys created a sculptural cake that tied the modern concept together. Captured by Marjorie Manfré, among the most admired wedding photographers in Provence, the imagery distilled the island’s essence: powerful, luminous and unforgettable a true fusion of couture, creativity and coastal French beauty.
