Fairytale Le Chateau Charmant Same Sex Wedding

Happy Tuesday lovelies, fresh on the blog today we’re heading to the Dordogne/Charente border for a fairytale Le Chateau Charmant same sex wedding brought to us by FWS vendor and wedding planners Marry Me In France.

Jamie and Matt were extremely pleased that they worked with Marry Me In France as it enabled them both to relax and enjoy their special day. They couldn’t imagine how it could possibly have been better. Their shaded outdoor ceremony area was beautifully adorned by two magnificent floral urns from Fleurs de Famille giving their intimate ceremony area the elegant feel they were looking for. They entrusted the pictures of their big day to photographer Claire Penn who perfectly captured the relaxed and happy atmosphere as you will see below. “I thoroughly enjoyed planning Jamie and Matt’s wedding. They wanted a very relaxed but elegant wedding. I helped guide them on flowers and decor so they could imagine the day of their dreams…”

“The slight gold theme appeared when Katie, Jamie’s sister and chief “bridesmaid” later renamed queen of the wedding bought an elegant gold dress for the wedding. The flower girls also had gold ties around their white dresses and looked utterly cute!”

The chateau sleeps 28 on site and the couple were able to offer breakfast for all those on site the morning of the wedding and a relaxed buffet lunch before the festivities started. It felt very intimate with only close family and friends there and made sure we used different spaces throughout the day so guests made the most of all the beautiful backdrops. When I first arrived on the morning of the wedding, I found Matt strolling round the grounds taking it all in and Jamie, relaxing by the pool.”

“They had an intimate and shaded ceremony on the lawn before enjoying bubbles and canapés in front of the chateau. In the evening, dinner was served by the pool before they hit the dance floor in the secret new barn…”

“We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful venue for our wedding. The chateau itself feels very grand and luxurious, yet manages to also feel cosy and homely, and it was so special to have the place to ourselves to spend time with our family for the whole weekend. We had our ceremony in front of the chateau with the vast garden and french countryside as the backdrop – so idyllic! After our wedding breakfast in the more intimate setting of the garden behind the chateau, we moved into the new barn conversion for our evening celebration. The modern renovation has managed to retain the rustic charm of the original building and was yet another ‘wow’ factor for our guests. We particularly enjoyed the cocktail bar!”

“The whole weekend was planned to perfection by Marry me in France; from start to finish Amy, our planner, made everything so easy. No request was too difficult, no detail to small, and she offered some great ideas when we were unsure what we wanted. And on the day she had everything under control – all we had to do was relax and enjoy! Overall I can’t imagine how it could possibly have been better.
