Cheese Tower and Hanging Cake at Château Lapeyrère du Tertre

Château Lapeyrère du Tertre, a Gironde wine estate, provided the lawns and vineyards for an early autumn editorial planned by Angélique of Shades Waves and photographed by Cristèle Domanec.
A secular ceremony was set in front of the pale stone château, with Nathalie Longefay Weddings as celebrant. A red classic convertible from Bordeaux Classic Cars stood on the gravel drive. On the lawn, a long table was laid beneath a large tree for an outdoor reception, with rows of vines beyond it.
The table brought together linen, candlelight, seasonal flowers and fresh fruit, in white and green with touches of deep burgundy. Mary and Paul modelled the couple.

The bride's gowns came from Alberto Palatchi's 2025 collection, among them Irene, in airy muslin, and Andrea, in intricate lace. A gold floral clip held back her hair. For the groom, Faubourg Saint Sulpice supplied a black tuxedo, worn with a bow tie and a small floral buttonhole.

Bridal Party

The bridesmaids wore dresses handmade by a local designer, in shades of green and pink with floral prints among them, and carried white paper parasols.
Design and Details

At the long table, wooden cross-back chairs lined both sides. A white linen tablecloth with soft green detailing covered it, paired with matching green plates and glassware, and the cutlery was gold. On the plates, menus by The Party Box, calligraphed in gold on deckle-edged paper, rested on folded white napkins.
Atelier Petit Brin's arrangements combined white flowers with pink and deep burgundy, among tall green taper candles in gold holders. Larger arrangements stood on the grass at the foot of the table, and pears and grapes were laid straight onto the cloth between the place settings. Two more arrangements of white and burgundy flowers stood on the lawn either side of the seating plan, which was printed with large green leaves. Scalloped name cards with gold tassels hung from it.
Caterer Marc Sainte-Claire's cheese tower resembled a traditional wedding cake, with whole cheeses stacked in tiers and dressed with figs and grapes. La Cuillère Délicieuse's hanging wedding cake, white and green, was shaped as an inverted pyramid and suspended from a slim white frame. Beside it, pale green hexagonal biscuits iced with white flowers sat on a gold wire stand.
Venue

Château Lapeyrère du Tertre is a 72-hectare wine estate at Savignac in the Gironde, about 50 minutes from Bordeaux. Raymond de Lassus, a Bordeaux wine merchant, built the château in 1782 on his family's land, where vines had been grown since the 16th century.
The estate hosts weddings of up to 200 guests, with a reception hall in the former wine cellars and accommodation for 35 guests on site. Its grounds also take in woods and a pond, and umbrella pines stand above the vines.
