Burgundy and Chrome: A Couture Editorial at Domaine des Halles, near Lyon

Burgundy Couture started from one fixed point: a wall of burgundy satin, draped and folded like a runway backdrop, set against the vaulted stone hall of Domaine des Halles, a chateau in the Monts du Lyonnais near Lyon. Photographer Lea Evrevin and a Lyon creative team built the editorial around that photocall, setting deep burgundy against polished chrome to push an emerging colour story toward couture. The hall's theatrical arches gave them the register they wanted: bold, stripped back, with nothing competing for attention but the two materials and the light. The ceremony itself was staged as a suspended moment, intimate and solemn, the model bride in a delicate lace veil against a minimalist setting that kept the focus on the couture rather than the decoration. Even the light was managed like a material, raked low across the stone so the satin read deep oxblood in shadow and bright crimson where it caught, the chrome picking it up in cold flashes off every tray and vase.
The styling followed the chrome thread to its conclusion. Lucie wore a sculptural gown by Anela Denisova Bridal, changed later into a short pearl-trimmed halter dress for the after-party, and stepped into silver Jimmy Choo heels chosen as a couture nod to the concept. Diamond and ruby jewellery sat waiting on silver trays, while Charles wore a black tuxedo by Empire du Marie. Hair came from Charlotte Frizura and makeup from Emma Quillage, both kept clean enough to let the burgundy and silver carry every frame. For couples drawn to this kind of architectural drama, Evrevin counts among the names to know when you compare wedding photographers working across France.

Draping did the structural work. Burgundy satin echoed the verticality of the vaults, its sculptural folds framing the photocall as the statement piece the whole concept gravitated toward, half backdrop, half couture set. The florals from Les Amourettes answered in burgundy and blush cymbidium orchids paired with calla lilies, built into cascading installations and elevated arrangements on pedestals that carried the colour up to the height of the arches. Chrome ran underneath as the counterweight: silver-finished stationery by Katia Porte, polished metal trays and cutlery, mirrored vases, and personalised burgundy matchboxes set out as favours. The dinner table pushed the palette further, dressed in oxblood linen with ornate candelabra and a tiramisu tower built in silver coupe glasses, before the styling broke its own formality late on with a chrome burger station. It reads exactly as intended at chateau wedding venues near Lyon: two materials, controlled contrast, no excess.
